Not sure why I never thought about this, but how do they select who sits at the TV Table during televised WSOP events? It seems like it is in ESPN's best interest to have Ivey, Durrrr, Scotty Nyguen, or other pros sit there, but I'm sure thats not what those players want (they'd rather swim with the fish). So how is it decided who winds up there?

Do you mean tournament tables?
They don't pile all the best players onto the feature table just to get higher volume of viewers. EPSN show the event, the tournament director / officials run it.

I am sure EPSN have some say in what is to be the feature table, but the most interesting table is just picked. If Dwan and Ivey just happened to be at the same table, then that table would most likely be the feature table. In most cases the feature table is just the most interesting, so maybe Ivey along another kinda well known pro or internet player and then some randoms as well.

Still a random drawing for who sits where, then ESPN decides which table gets featured.

This is what I assumed. And it seems the most likely to me. Seems obvious, no? Tournament directors seat all the players (most likely randomly using a computer) ... and then ESPN decides what table(s) they want to record.

I am almost positive this is how it must be done.

It wouldn't be fair to sit Ivey/Dwan + all the other pros at the same table, while all the Main Event donks battle it out on the others.

Of course. It wouldn't be fair at all. And those guys would notice it. It has to be done as I described it ... or at least very similar .... I'd be pretty surprised if otherwise.

Also despite how long I've been here .... finally figured out how to use the multiquote feature on these boards. Knew how to do it on the old boards .... but this is maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I did it on the new ones .... and I can say I definitely now know how to use this thing (assuming when I post this it works).

EDIT:

It worked.

Talking of big televised events, at the large poker events when they have a little camera that can see the players' cards, can the audience see what they have or is it just of the tv later?
