Hi all, long first post, sorry!

I'm a player from the UK, been playing predominantly on the internet for about 2 years.

Currently I play at 50nl with the occasional stt/mtt. I've built up my bankroll such that I'm rolled for 100nl, but I'm sticking to 50nl because a fair amount of my roll came from a couple of big tourney wins. I don't think I'm ready to move up yet.

I reckon I'm not a bad player but there's room for improvement. I used to play pretty nitty but I'm learning to mix it up a bit more. I don't have PT stats at the moment but i play around 15-20% of my hands and rarely open-limp.

Next year i'm going on a stag party to Vegas with a few friends. Naturally, I want to play some poker when i'm there and thought there may be some people here that could give me some advice on the games available.

I will be taking some cash with me which i can kinda afford to lose, but i'd rather not! i'm not really interested in the other casino games, i'd rather play poker on the whole.

Generally I'd like to know what low stakes games are available, and how they differ from online games. How should I adapt my play, any strategy tips out there??

Thanks!

being from the UK myself the MGM and TI were both good rooms for me

Only people who fly direct are Virgin if you sign up for Virgin poker you can earn airmiles for your points and offset your flight that way coupled with the credit card it can be a pretty easy way to get the flights covered off which makes it a cheap trip thanks to the weakness of the dollar!

I'm also from the UK and I'm going to Vegas next summer, I want to play cash games of mostly 200NL live - is it possible? Where in vegas has the best/most value restaurants? Where is the best place to stay if you are staying for a month and are going with a group of 6?

Ideally we want to stay in some sort of villa with a pool and close enough to walk / 10minute taxi to the casino's for the poker games.

Let me know

The casino $1-$2 NLH games are basicly just like the 10NL on-line games. Lots of time the drunkin fish are great they are there to blow $$$ and say they played that game they saw on TV in Vegas. Just watch out for the players that seem to know the dealers (dealer calls player by name), they are the locals out fishing and are goot at it. Basicly pay attention to your villians and you should do fine.

went to vegas in the beginning of summer in the same spot as you - rolled for 100NL, played mostly 50NL up to the point. i owned the games at the mirage, made like $600 in prolly 5-6 hours (spent most of the time burning $ w/ friends). if you beat 50NL, live 1/2NL is ez

You won't have any trouble finding a $100 (1/2) NL cash game. Last time I went we played at Caesar's and Mirage and they both had them, as well as limit games as low as $3/6 (maybe even 2/4?). Mirage was even running SNG's, IIRC it was one for $60 and one for $100 but don't quote me on the buy-ins. Just wait til you get there and call around to a few casinos from your hotel and see what is playing where.

As for adjustments, it sounds like you're a very capable player at $50 NL online so you should have no fear at all of playing a $100 or even $200 in Vegas. The same people that aren't comfortable losing more than $20 or $30 a night online have no problem with taking $500 to Vegas as their "fun money". You will even find people on a $100 NL that have obviously never played before or only a handful of times.

How is 1/2 100NL? I didn't see any $100 max places anywhere.

Well, he asked about low stakes, you could sit 1/2 with only $100 at both of those casinos but it wasn't $100 max, $200 max. Quite a few people were sitting with just the $100.

Pretty much the only place in the world with $100 max games is Florida. Everywhere else 1/2 is usually $200 max.
