Any help provided is appreciated, or if anyone can direct me with a link in the right direction that would be helpful too.

I understand table selection is important. How is it most easily done? What should I be looking out for? What should I avoid?

I personally think table selection at the micros is over rated. At the micros the aim should be to improve ones game. Ones game will never improve if one only plays against the worst players at NL2. This is why there are so many posts along the lines of "I can beat NL2 but when I move up to NL5 I get smashed". Play against all types at the micros and your game will improve.

Now to answer your question, look for passive tables (not much raising) with lots of limpers or a table that is very fit-or-fold on the flop.

I actually don't play that low, so I'm more looking for general advice. Thanks for the tip on passive tables. Do you (collective you, for anyone who wishes to tackle this one) sit and watch a table for a bit before sitting down, or do you rely on your HH and see how your hands at that table go?

This subject is covered in great detail in this and other sections of the forum. I would suggest a search or a browse through the stickies, check out the CoTW threads in micro full ring etc.

You are most gracious.

I'll ask another question here rather than create a new thread - what's floating?

My bad, thought this was the beginning poker questions discussion.

it is, therefore it has discussions of questions that are trivial and beginner might ask.

if your looking for a place to get quick answers to beginner questions then its the beginner questions thread. not the forum.
