is this new ?

if i deposit 100$ i cannot cashout without raking. so, if someone deposit too much money by mistake they need to grind a ton of hours to cashback.

like, you deposit 100$, play three 5$ buy-in game, lose it all and decide you want to withdraw your own 85$ left but you cant.

is there any trick to bypass that thing ? its a really horrible rule.

its new. never see that in the last 8 years. in your cashier theres a new thing that should be called ''available for withdrawal'' (my stars is in french so it can be different wording)

i dont talk about the money you win on the table, i talk about the money you just deposit.

you deposit 100$, you cannot withraw it without playing a ton of games.

like you deposit 100$, play a 2$ game, you have 98$ left that you want to withdraw but the cashier will say ''you have 1,12$ available for withdraw'' that money available is calculate with the raked 0,20$ on that single game i guess.

well then maybe don't deposit $100 if you don't intend to use it?

if you're restricted like this, email them and ask them how much rake you need to cash it out. from stuff i've read in the past it's really not that much.

what a nice answer.... almost like nobody ever went to a casino and quit the place without wagering all his money.

so i'm the only one with this ''available to cashout'' line in the cashier ?

ok thanks. i got a response from support and they told me its a security thing depending on your game historic and the origin of the founds. they dont want to approve the cashout if some money come from the deposit directly.

this security model make issues (especially for recreational players) and people should be aware.

lets say you are a recreational player who deposit 100$ and only play few 7$ for two hours, and then you're tired (or whatever reason: you forget you have electricity bills to pay) and decide to cashout your money, well now you cannot!

they force you to rake a certain amount before you can see your own money.

for players2players transfert i get it, but for your own deposit it really a shame.

Is this a new thing? The only restrictions I was aware of was that you were unable to cash any money out until 48 hours after depositing?

Apparently Stars is now doing shady things like many other sites have been doing for years. Did you get shown a new 'Terms and Conditions' pop-up when you made a deposit?

https://www.pokerstars.uk/poker/real-money/cashouts/

I can't see anything in T&Cs about having to rake or play a certain amount. You defeinitely can;t just deposit play a little then cash out because although your deposit has been granted it takes time for it to actually be processed, which is why you usually have to wait 48 hours.

What you dont want ot do is go on mega tilt and lose it all before 48 hours has expired : ) good luck

It's only about money you deposited. Depending on the way you deposit/withdraw, Stars pays (significant) fees. So they want for you to generate rake with your deposit to a certain point to at least cover the fees. (And then some, probably)

I don't like it, but it's not shady at all unless they force you to generate a very high amount of rake. The alternative would be the way lots of online shops and especially travel websites handle it nowadays and charge customers based on their method of payment or in Stars case, deposit/withdrawal method.

It would only be shady if Stars forced players to pay an unreasonable amount of rake to be able to cash out. If you had to generate $20+ rake for every $100 deposit, I'd consider that shady. But forcing people to pay somewhere around $5 seems pretty reasonable to me.
