Hi,

I've been playing Poker for about 2.5 years but never managed by bankroll properly.

Result: Got broke everytime.

Now I deposit $15 in Pokerstars and I'm playing $1.40+0.10 Heads Up turbo tournaments and I just love it.

Is it a good idea considering I'm not a good player (yet)?

Any advice will be welcomed.

Thanks

If you have a good time and it costs you $15, that's probably not a disaster.

What would happen if you went busto? Re-deposit?

If you're happy to lose $ and write it off as the cost of a hobby, it's not against the law.

On the other hand, 10 buy-ins is hardly great 'bankroll' management.

Good Luck. and Welcome to the Forums.

Thread would be better titled: small bankroll.
('stack' is what you actually have on the table)

its fine but horrible brm..... i say deposit $30-50 & play those games & use a 20-30 buy in rule and keep moving up & enjoying yourself... the hu sng's are very profitable as even in the higher stakes regs aren't good compared to cash games

Yeah, I'm aware its bad BRM but for now I'm winning 2 out of 3 tournaments.

Hope it stays like this.

I might try the cash tables 1/2 cents

If you've not done so already, read more about BRM. It's really quite crucial for new players to understand variance and how BRM makes it easier to deal with. See part 24 of the FAQ: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/32...ncement95.html

Yeah I agree with these guys.

The term "bankroll" is thrown around quite a bit. Back in the days before online, stakes were such, that even a 1/2NL grinder needed 4k at least for play safely. Now to most, 4k is a very significant amount of money in relation to real world expenses and such.

Nowadays with microsakes, people are calling $50 a "bankroll" when (hopefully) $50 isn't any where near as significant as the 4k I mentioned above. Therefore, you also don't need to cherish is as much.

Sorry for the random BR tangent.
