Hey, I have 8As of hearts vs a player who I just stacked Villian A the hard directly before (after he tried to bluff the 5 turn all in with KQ to continue representing a T on the TT2 flop. (I had 55 so I got a full house on the turn))


Here's the hand I'm asking about:
I am on the Big Blind.

103bb effective. $0.05/$0.10.

Villian A raises 3.5bb from UTG.

Villian B calls on the Small Blind.

I call on the Big Blind.

Flop comes: 6d 4h 2h

Villian B bets 1/3 pot.

I call.

Villian A shoves all in.

Villian B folds.

I calculated my hand equity and I figured I had an 8, and an Ace if this person has caught top pair 6. I also considered this player may be on tilt after I just stacked him, and he could be making a big bluff again. I quickly calculated 3 (8) + 3(A) + 9(hearts) for 15 outs * 4 = 60% equity by the river. There was 116 in the pot, and I would have to call 95.6 BB. I did 95.6 / (116 + 95.6) for only 45% needed for this call, so I was getting the right odds to make the call I figured from this calculation.


Should I have called or folded here?

Dispensing with any range-related if/then propositions, this is a trivially easy fold.

You're getting 1.21:1 to call as a 1.78:1 dog. This assumes you win 100% of the time your flush hits.

FWIW, Absent any specific reads I probably fold preflop with a meh A sandwiched between the SB and a UTG raiser.

May not have 8 v 57x .. 6hXh is also popular in this spot

Not enough dead money in there .. need to discount 1 pr outs v 2 pr and potentially full house redraw also .. So you're stuck with 7 flush outs that have to hold, which drops your EV way down IMO .. GL

I would certainly discount your A outs. Even if he has top pair with a 6, that is going to be A6 pretty frequently. Even if he has air, that air will often be an A that has you out kicked.
