Hi,
So after a hellish session last night where I had KK sucked out 3 times after being aipf in the first 20 mins of playing, then spending the next 4 hours every so slowly creeping back up to the point where i was just about breaking even, only to lose it all back again in about a 5 minute strech of idiocy. I was wondering whether most people will give themselves pretty strict time limits on sessions.
I reckon that my donking it up at the end was partly due to me being tired, so in essence do you think that just setting a time limit of how long to play could be a wise move?

I personally try to not play more than 2 hours straight in any one session and I also try to avoid playing whilst not mentally feeling fresh. I played when very tidy a couple of days ago and spewed off 5 buy ins without even thinking. Ultimately if you feel you can play a 4 hour session at the top of your game then by all means do that, but once you start to feel that you are slipping off your A game, stop, see how long the session was and take a note. This should give you a good idea of how long you should play at any one time

Typically I start to lose focus after about 50 minutes. Take 10 mins or so then back at it.

Still doesnt stop me playing long dumb ass catch up sessions tho.

Sounds like you play live(like me), but you can use this suggestion if you play online too.

I started taking notes on my phone every 1/2 hr live during a session and tracked my results to see trends/etc. It was kinda mind opening. You do need a lot of sessions to get meaningful results. But this was very helpful to me.

As a general statement (from people i've talked to or seen posted on internet) most people deteriorate after ~4 hrs.

I've found that after about an hour I start to lose concentration and make bad decisions. Now I make a point of breaking every hour to go outside for a cigarette and get some fresh air. It seems to be working.
