Ur gonna have to point them out for me as I don't think it's that bad given what villain turns up with
Ha, well maybe 50NL is several levels above me, but:
1. 4 betting with 55.
2. Calling a 4 bet with AQo.
3. Checking flop when you have 4 bet and have initiative.
4. Raising that flop when you have 55.
5. Betting all in on that turn when you have 55.
Oh, that's 5. Maybe at 50NL people rep hands they don't have more than the lower stakes.
But gamma has shown strength so this guy seems like he's spewing.
-he shouldn't 4bet pre. 55 has no blockers and is awful to play OOP when called.
-Xring Axx is a terrible way to get value. He should be going b/b/b w AK here so xring is either a draw or a bluff(a large %age of the time)
-Shipping turn is bad cause its a good card for my range. If i'm calling a Xr im not folding on a card which reduces the number of combos that beat me.
That's obviously not a mistake considering the results. We are deep so his continuance range is wider, I am IP and he 4bets a ******ed amount so by calling a 4bet Ip with AQo I basically own him.
Against a spazzmonkey, I play an even wider range than I do normally and get more aggressive preflop and hence get into more marginal spots later.
This hand occured sometime when I had around 40 hands on him (as opposed to what PT shows which is his stat at the end of sesh) and we had already engaged in 3-4 light 4b and 5bets pre, though none of them went to the flop.
1) Not the best hand to use for a light 4bet but the guy had been a right 3bet monkey so far so I wanted to expand my bluff range a little. On the flop, is this a cbet or not?
fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.75, BB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $6.25, BB calls $3.75
Flop:($12.50, 2 players) 2 T K Hero bets $5.90, fold
Spoiler:
Hero wins $11.94
2) Line check? We can both have plenty of draws/bluffs on this board (though it's less likely he's floating without any history, this line is so often a flush draw), so the plan was to x/jam the turn. I wasn't sure about the river either - I figured my sizing left him room to spazz while getting value from sceptical Tx and draws that picked up a pair - I mean, my line looks pretty FoS.
Hero shows 7 9 (Three of a Kind, Nines) (Pre 31%, Flop 85%, Turn 95%) BB mucks 7 T (Two Pair, Tens and Nines) (Pre 69%, Flop 15%, Turn 5%) Hero wins $23.63
3) Pre and turn I'm interested in. I don't think 3b/c pre can be bad given stacks, but also given stacks he's likely to be bad. I would often call the river but he tanked exactly until his time bank started, so it looked a lot like fishy fake-tanking.
River:($6.25, 2 players) 8 Hero checks, UTG bets $5.51 and is all-in, fold
Spoiler:
UTG wins $5.97
4) Another attempt to x/r the turn. Shortstack reg shouldn't have many pairs in his flop xb range, neither player should ever have a flush here and a lot of BTN's flop xb range will be Ax. It also is a non-standard value line so should encourage thinner calldowns. I guess neither player had anything though.
@TDA
H1: like ya said not the best hand to 4bet bu w/e ha. Cbet is fine.
H2: id continue betting on the turn. No need to get fancy. If you think he has a lot of draws in his range you want to make sure he doens't get a chance to realise his equity.
H3: i'd 3bet GII as standard.
H4: I'd just bet turn.
H5: FTOP?? never folding.
H1: I'd just be waiting for a stronger hand here. That way when you 4b he'll think "Maybe he's getting sick of me" when realistically you're doing it with a super strong range.
As played it's ok.
H2: I'd usually take the line of Bet/Call, Check/call, Check/Jam here. Betting the turn is definitely a must though.
H3: I'd be tempted to just shove preflop given that he's so shortstacked. It's not like we have to worry about having 4 players behind us who will wake up with a hand since it's unlikely BB has much of anything. As played I'd be calling the river just since I'm a station and he's really polarized.
H4: Lead out on the turn. It's a good card for you to represent in the case that you don't have AK or Ax, so people would still probably call you with a hand like pocket 8's or something. If somebody did X/C the turn I'd be betting 1/5ths pot on the river. Price them in with their weaker pairs.
H5: NH.
Your bet sizing seems really small throughout these hands though. Don't be scared to make it 5/6th pot at times. Gets money in quicker, and if they float you on the flop and fold to bets on the turn you gain those few extra bb's which really add up in the end.
Have had very little time to play recently, which is a trend that, sadly, I believe is going to continue for at least a couple of months. How do I best maximize my time? Does the ratio of studying to playing change?
Fundamental theorem of poker (if that was what u were asking?)
Cheers

Over 50% is too high. Mid 40s is just right IMO, WP

It depends on what your looking to get from poker. If you want to make a decent amount of money in the future study as much as you can. Think of it like an investment.
If on the other hand your playing casually just hoping to make a few quid well then if you want to play poker just play and study when you feel like it.
In my case i'd like to study more than I am currently doing but i'm trying to get SN by the end of the year again.
