I recently read Phil Gordon's pro tip on FullTilt about 'the script' (http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/pro-tip/PhilGordon/4). seems very sound, although i feel it lack some depth.

I was considering following a script, however i felt it required a few extra questions; relating to odds (pot, effective, implied etc.), deception (bluff, slow-play check raise etc.), effects of the various possible moves (image, check-raise possibilities) and some deeper physcology (what do i think he thinks i have and futher) or game theory.

Just wondering which of these needs to be added or if any of what phil says could be taken away. Or am i just over complicating a mental proccess that needs to be undertaken iin a short time at the table? I tihnk a script is a perfect route to correct decisions, only first you need a perfect script.

You do not need a perfect script. You can improve it as you go.

It may depend on whether you play live or online. In the latter case you have about 15 seconds to go through your script.... less if you are multitabling. Keep that in mind.

here are the questions i came up with, these would obviously take more time but perhaps improve decision making.

Is he playing conservatively? Aggressively? Tentatively?

What are some of the hands he is likely to hold?

What does he think I have?

Should I bet or raise?

Should I check (or fold)?

Should I call?

Deception (perhaps do the opposite of expected)

What are my hands pot Odds and implied odds?

What happens if I do this? (table image, later betting rounds etc.)

Thanks for you help!
