It seems that everyone is always saying sample sizes are too small to be a true indicator of good or bad play.

When does a sample size start to become adequate for bb/100, std deviation and other total stats? 10K, 25K, 50k? I know the more hands the better, but when does sample size start to yield somewhat true indicators?

Also could take this down to hands against opponents? I play 6 max and usually in 4-5 orbits think i have at least a decent feel for vpip and pfr? thats only 25-30 hands. Is that really enough to judge on table selection? Its a small size but it does represent 20-25 minutes of play.
