I was at a home poker tourn when this occurred, and the guy was so adament i thought he may be right. Ther were 3 people in the hand including villain when someone raised and another guy went allin. When it was villains turn to act he moved allin and the first raiser calls. Dealer says flip em everybody flips except villain. He says he doesnt have to show.I said that true if it were a cash game. He becomes abusive and says ther is no casino in the world that would make you show. Is he right?

In tournaments.. you have to show when there is no action left and there are players all in.

You must be the guy that argued. Now tell me you have been in more casinos than i have been in states. Lol jj. I read the TDA RULE. It says that if one player is AI and gets called and there is no more action then the cards are flipped face up before the rest of the board is dealt. Every tourn i have played, and every poker room i have played in follows this rule. Except for cash.

The vast majority of casinos have the show when all in in tournaments rule, but I have been to one that was otherwise. Regardless, this is a house rule, there is no one be all end all rulebook of poker.

the TDA came together to put one together. And my understanding is this is what all major tourn go by. Look up TDA rules.

He's wrong, and at a home game it should be up to the house rules.

In most tournaments cards are flipped in all ins. In most cash games they are not (the last time I played at Casino Rama near Toronto they were flipping cards for all ins in cash games). However, local rulings always prevail and may vary from place to place. Especially in home game (ie; it's up to the host).
