10 player sng with 5 players remaining 125/250 are the blinds. I'm on the sb with the chiplead at 5750. utg calls, button calls, me on sb limps in with 4/5 s. BB shoves, utg and button fold it. action to me...690 chips to call. Should this be folded or should this be called because of the pot odds I'd be getting here.

you have pot odds but no implied odds I would fold it, your already likely way behind the BB plus i dont wana give a short stack a chance to re-build.

I called this, he was extremely loose all game. He turns over 3/3. I caught a 4 on the flop ...

He proceeds to tell me this was the worst call he's ever seen in his life that I need to learn how to play

hmm 250 + 250 + 250 + 250 = 1k + anties. he puts 690 more. so its around 700 for 1800.
You're probably btw 20-40% to win here. so I think neither option is bad.

I would definitely call here, jst because its my style of play. when blinds get high, i wanna show ppl that I can call them, so that they;ll be a little afraid next time they try to make a move on my BB/limp

This was my thoughts, even if I lose the hand I still have near 5k chips and still have the lead.

I would of made the same play. Even if you lose you would still be chip leader, yeah he might rebuild is chip stack, but you want people to know that you will call them so in the near future your semi-bluffs/second best hands will when you a pot.

i'd probably call is well mostly because i can afford to and sometimes i get a little loose against the shorties especially if pot or implied odds are in my favor. really depends on the villain and the table though.
