I got a question. I usually see people talking about the stakes at which they play at, so sometimes I will read people saying they play at 2NL,5NL,10NL. What does that mean?

The number represents the dollar (US dollar) figure to buy into the game with 100bb.

So a 2NL game has a buyin of $2.00. The blinds will be .01/.02 meaning the small blind posts a penny, the big blind posts two pennies. The big blind ($.02) x 100 = $2.00 buy in.

Another example ...10NL
Buy in $10.00 (100bb)
Blinds .05/.10

Welcome to poker, and well done on finding the right thread, even if you might have missed the right part of it.

The first post in this thread is a link to the Beginners Forum FAQ. Click there and expand the list: item 41 is a glossary of words that might be new to you. 3-bet is covered. It doesn't really define 4-bet but you can work it out from 3-bet.

Read all the entries in that FAQ, and the links from the next post in this thread too.
