Im looking for harsh, straightforward, ANYTHING advice on my hand.
Im not sure what I did wrong.. maybe going in with ATo from MP was a bad choice? Didn't raise preflop? idk..
I came in 588th of 9558 players..not the best.
I was extremely tight, but i found it was hard to be loose in the tournament(freeroll) when you got people always going all in with ATC
I've been reading moving through uNL 2010 by verneer and finding it a little hard to follow..very complicated to read. Ive only been playing for a month but gaining a good chunk of knowledge from reading daily.
If someone can possibly recommend some books/articles/videos from beginner>advanced. I'd love to start learning more.
Sorry for the slight off topic, heres my hand:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 0 Tournament, 300/600 Blinds 60 Ante (8 handed) - PokerStars Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com
preflop is all in or fold. With UTG limper makes it tough with ATo, but I think you just have to go for it at this point. you have 20 more hands before you blind out and and it's better to try to double up now while you can still climb back into the tournament.

So I didn't really screw up?

With less than 10 BB left in your stack, you should either be shoving or folding preflop. Ideally you find a spot to shove where either you pick up a great hand, or no one has entered the pot before you - if no one has entered the pot, your cards matter less, since it's more likely that everyone will fold to your big raise. Here you probably need to shove pre anyway, though with ATo, that's not so exciting with one player in the pot who is sure to call. On the flop, at a freeroll with A high in a 4-way pot, bluffing is pointless; someone will call you and will beat you since you have nothing. So if you did limp, just check/fold and wait for a better spot.

No you screwed up by calling preflop. You had two choices: Go all in or fold. You chose to limp. Limping here is awful.
Verneer's guide is about cashgames, which play quite differently to tournaments, especially freerolls.
If you're finding Verneer a little complicated, start by reading and re-reading Sircuddles' guide. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/78...micros-430637/
Once you understand the fundamentals, you can start applying the advice of Verneer and others.
Was that freeroll one of the PSO ones? The play in those is typically awful and you basically need to luckbox your way into the money. Once you're down to 20bb or less, just shove any ace, any pair or any two Broadways. You have to win several flips to make it through a field that large. You'll never get to the money by limping.
