Its 100 to call, and you are calling for the chance to win the $200 pot. Since you are risking $100 to win $200, your pot odds are $200-to-$100 or 2-to-1. If your chance of winning the pot is better than 2-to-1(or 33.5%), put your money in.

I understand the logic and that's its 2-1 odds, but how are they getting the 33.5%????

2-1 has three outcomes. You will lose twice and win once..

2-1 is actually three parts all roughly 33.3%.

Some people do get that confused and think that 3-1 is 33% but really, that is a situation where you win once and lose three times, giving you 25%. Make sense?

What Frack said.

Also, think about how much of the final pot you're contributing when you call.

You put in $100, and the final pot is $300.

You're contributing 1/3 or 33.333% of that final pot.

Profitable call if your equity is more than 33.333% because you're then getting back more than you put in.
