Villian has been at table about an hour. Loose player but not super aggressive. He has been losing small pots and is down about $200. Can recall one hand where I raised pre with A9 suited and only V called. I checked behind on flop, turned an ace. V lead turn for $25 into a $30 pot I called. River went check check and I was good.

Hero is in late position and looks down at JJ. Couple of limps to hero who makes it $15. Folds to BB who says "Raise" and puts out $10. He did not see my raise but because verbal is binding deal forces him to raise he makes it $28 which dealer says is the minimum (is that right). Folds back to hero who makes it $65 to go. V calls, and checks blind.

Flop is 972 rainbow.

V has $180 behind And I cover. Pot is about $130.

Yes $28 is right. $65 again looks good to me

My feeling is villain doesn't have KK+. Read dependent if he has QQ.

SPR of about 1.3:1, so if you bet $65 and would shut down OTT if an overcard hits, you're probably better off checking back, but unless my read is that his min 3! pre feels trappy, I'd just ship it OTF.

The idea is to make your opponents' decisions hard. Betting 1/2 pot OTF puts you in a potentially tougher position on future streets.

I get it. Overcard hits OTT, he checks, we get it in.

But if he bets when the A, K, or Q hits...?

Based on OP's history w/villain, if he gets it in OTF, there is a good chance villain calls with TT, A9, etc.

Results:

I shipped it and V snap folded. V showed KQ off. My thinking was $10 raise pre was legit what villain meant to do and if he had QQ-AA he would have made it more. I don't want to see any over cards and SPR is low enough to get it in so that's what I did.

Posted hand cuz I was thinking afterwards does shipping have any value or did I effectively turn my hand into a bluff with the $180 shove.

Since the stack sizes are awkward and you are never folding, I'd just shove the flop.
