Question for Online Grinders in your 30s.. Question for Online Grinders in your 30s..

I'm "in between jobs" lets say, and not hoping to be an online grinder forever, but until I find a reasonable programming job.

I'll play like 40-50 hours a week, usually I'll stop like at 1 or 2am on most nights though, but besides that no real schedule.

For those who are grinding 30-40 hours a week what are your rules/schedule that allows you to maintain some sorta of a normal social life.

Just curious as I'm trying to have some sort of schedule/rules going forward in September. I was thinking maybe something like limit my self to 2 or 3 afternoon sessions, and 2 or 3 night sessions a week.

after priming myself with exercise and sometimes meditation, then ill warm up by reading or watching a poker video, maybe use a gto trainer or dabble in low stakes to get loose. And then, I play. I like 4 hours in the first part of the day, doesn't have to be morning, and then bang out another 4 hours in the evening or night.

I would focus on volume rather than hours. 100,000 hands a month is my goal, but I have been struggling to get there. If you can maintain a decent win rate and put in the volume you should do well. Try to play when you can get the most volume in the shortest amount of time, which is typically late afternoon / evening hours.

As to the social life part, I don't have one - but trying to change that. I plan to create a schedule and try to stick some social / entertainment time slots in. Beyond that for any bigger plans just plan ahead and adjust the schedule as needed.

I don't think you can bring your A-game (or your autopilot B-game) always if you play 30-40 hours a week.

I would rather make sport

wdym by normal social life? If you want to party at night then you'll have to play multiple sites during the day to get enough tables to get in some reasonable volume and game quality will be hit or miss at those times. Or you can just schedule days off like a regular 9-to-5er and socialize with friends on those days. If you are single then this shouldn't be a problem at all. 168 hours in a week. If you are dedicated and don't *** around then you should easily hit 30-40 hours of play and have the other 120-130 hours to eat, study, train, socialize, sleep etc etc. If you don't then you are just making excuses. If you are in a relationship/family well that is another story.

That's hard to do without zoom. I wish I could hit 100k myself. How close have you gotten?

I play reg tables and I think my highest month was around 55k or so and I really had to break my back to hit that number.
