Ok first post long time reader, just wondering about how people always talk about table selection. I dont use sharkscope cause i am under the impression that it is banned on most major sites. I play micro stakes and the way I table select is by checking stacks as to what im going to buy in for that session. Say for instance there is someone @ a 6max table with 10.00 and two others with 6.00 or 7.00 at .01/.02 then that is prolly not the right game for me. Is this the right way to table select with out sharkscope or somthing comparable??????

Question about table selection

Good question.

I think what we mean by table selection is sitting at tables with fish. Not so much stack size. However, most of us don't like sitting with shortstacks.

Table selection software is a grey area as far as if it's allowed at the site you play at. Table selection software will scan the tables you want to play and match up the players to your database of players if you use PT or Holdem Manager. Then it shows you where all the fish are. You can also use the sites VPIP and average pot stats in their lobbies, but those tend to not be that accurate.

Hope that helps.
