Question about higher stakes MTTs

Why do raises seem to differ from different positions? For example button raises sometimes seem to be only a tiny bit more than 2x the BB, while UTG raises are usually more.

because if you raise the btn you only need to make the blinds fold
if you raise utg you need to make a lot more people fold

this is pretty standard in all games/at all levels afaik

if u r utg, u have should have a good hand and u want to play a big pot (even if u will be oop)
