Poker Necessities? Poker Necessities?

Hey guys,

New to 2+2, but I've been playing for a while.

Just curious what you all would consider a necessity.

This could be books, apps, just whatever.

(Although I am also specifically looking for an app to start tracking my live cash and tournament play if you have any suggestions.)

Looking forward to the conversation.

For live poker tracking i've used "Live poker manager" from IOS store, tracks different casinos , tournaments + cash win rates / graphs / session averages etc and has room to leave notes on sessions to review later

Kill every one is a classic. I don't know if there are any good new tournament books. Download equitylab from pokerstrategy.com, to compare different hands/ranges vs each other

If you do have access to online play I would highly reccomend to buy in for an insignificant ammount and also getting a tracker like HM2 or PT4 to scrutinize your own play for leaks. At many sites you can buy in for as little as $10. You will see a lot more hands online, and thus learn faster.

I see a couple of people mention Equilab and PokerStrategy.com here. Power Equilab (the pro version of Equilab) is available for $6 USD a month and is the best equity calculator on the market. In fact, other than some of what CREV does, you would never need anything other than Power Equilab. It does everything the other equity calculators do and more. The only other product I'm looking at right now is FlopFalcon which basically is Flopzilla on steroids.

Just to mention: PokerStrategy.com is also probably the best video/training site for micro/small players now. They have a gold sub for $39 USD a month that will, by far, give you the most bang for your buck at those stakes.
