// Flush draw makes to the board, I try to represent the flush by raising the bet, without thinking too much about what he might hold unfortunately.
Your flop bet is to big for a back door draw and a over card with a so so kicker.
I am not the last word on poker but I would have play this hand way differently.
The check on the turn is so so as you have zero but you also give him a free card to bluff half the cards that could come on the river.
Here is another way to look at it. You have found someone who will limp call a raise with A5 off. They will then call more than a half pot bet, out of position, with absolute air. He will also call a raise with a straight on a flushing board.
What do we learn from this?
That this particular player should never be bluffed, and should always be value bet.
I think that is more important than how you played this hand against this opponent. His numbers don't tell you much, since it is based on 7 hards - but this one hand tells you a whole lot more.
What do you learn from discussing this particular hand when there is a high chance that you will not face this kind of situation often? How will you improve from the answers/replies given by the people here so that you will get better next time?
The biggest issue with this hand is that you try to play fancy and cool on NL5. It just does not work. Bluffraising the river might work out on high stakes but the players you are playing against on this limit have no clue what you are representing and will call you with a 2nd pair because they feel like it.
So how to play it? Bet flop smaller sizing, maybe check turn and maybe fold the river. I am not a GTO wizard - point is, play solid.
I actually think postflop is fine and your thought process is fine, like I wouldn't have played it this way but I wouldn't call any decision a major mistake
I think the big mistake is preflop, when someone limps you definitely want to attack the limp but you should be iso'ing a tighter range than you would raise if it was folded to you. For the Ax offsuit hands I think you want at least ATo here to iso.
