while working my way up the micros and currently playing 2NL to build some bankroll and basic skills I have come up on a problem I can't seem to figure out.

Is it profitable to play low suited ace cards? such as A9-A2? I seem to never really flop a flush and I don't really like chasing draws as I don't want it to become a bad habit, it just seems that for the few times I actually get a flush on the turn/river it just makes up for all those times I missed

If you have position it's perfectly OK to play them and see what flops. Just don't overplay them if you catch an ace and nothing else. They have been profitable for me on FTP.

It only happens once every 120 times, if I recall correctly.

Playing draws is fine, you just have to play them right, don't dump off a bunch of money chasing one.

In general though, dump small aces unless you're in late position and there are no limpers.

yeah I am not a huge fan of the smal suited ace, really unless you flop 2 to a flush, or two pair, your ace is rarely good. If you are going to play them, play when you have possion and be careful.

Really if I'm in late position and there are lots of limpers it is a good time to play it

This.

I find it better to pay them in LP with limpers, because iften you will get the right price to chase the draw + it increases there is a at least one guy who will pay you off if you should make your flush.

Just be aware you play them to hit + 2 pairs or stronger hands. Dont overåplay it when you hit your ace, or you will burn money.

Playing suited aces becomes necessary as you move up actually, because so many LAGs and fish will play lower SCs and pay you off huge when you flush over flush them. Of course you still have to make sure you're playing in position and have a reasonable price for calling preflop but in general suited aces are a good hand no matter what stakes you play at.

FWIW I rarely call a raise with suited A's where the X is less than a T ([and I probably fold ATs more than call it] sometimes if a fish is in there and I have position and/or a really small raise I'll call with AXs), but I pretty much always raise it if nobody has yet (not in EP at full ring). I 3bet it sometimes too.

Post-flop play obviously depends.
