Pain in my bicep from using mouse Pain in my bicep from using mouse

Over the course of the night I have developed an uncomfortable pain in my bicep in my right arm. I tried using my left hand to do the mouse but it is not fast enough for multitabling. The pain is less when i put pressure on the area so right now I have a tshirt wrapped around my arm like if I were gonna shoot up.

Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so is there a way to get rid of it?

i've never gotten this from using a mouse, but i've felt pain similar to what you're describing. If you haven't already, take some advil. Also a hot shower helps. Maybe do some stretches too.

If it persists try posting this in the fitness forum. Im sure you'll get some good advice there too.

Google 'ergonomic mice'.

Some of the hardcore grinders use them, I believe.

This indicates a lack of your body activity. Ergonomic mouse can lower the pain in the future, but it won't make it go away you should start stretching every day - this is the minimun and try buying some dumbbells and try to work out this will help a lot and it will only take you like 15-20 minutes a day. And just to say that this bicep pain probably isn't from using mouse, unless you are holding to your mouse like you are hanging from the fifth floor.

Yeah, i really don't see how you cant get bicep pain from using a mouse. Maybe its something different?

its probably the first signs of RSI and you should really do something about it before you reach level 3 RSI. if you get lvl3 you will not be able to use a computer for more than 10 minutes for a year or more.
the best thing to do is start excercising

Definitely try a new mouse. Is your elbow resting on the table or some other type of support? If not, you should try this because your bicep is one of the main muscles used to keep your arm in flexion. It isn’t the weight of the mouse, it is the weight of your arm. Holding any muscle in a flexed/semi-flexed position for an extended period of time will cause repetitive stress issues.
Absolutely do not wrap a t-shirt or apply pressure to your arm in any way. This disrupts the gate-control of the pain process (like rubbing your shoulder after being hit by a baseball). If you do this your body will continue to think nothing is wrong but the muscle/tendon will continue to deteriorate. A general rule is that it will take twice as long to heal an injury as it took to create it. Take some ibuprofen, stretch, and do a little light resistance training.

Took me some time to get used to, but I love it now. Moving my wrist around seems so 2007.
