Why 3bet KJs v UTG 3x raise, but not JJ v UTG minraise?

the KJ 4bet is good imo, especially aainst a aggro 3bettor.. He simply wont have enough hands to continue there.. He only 5 bets monsters and will call decent hands but KJ is not bad vs decent hands..

U cant simply wait for a big hand vs these type of players, they will drain u dry before u get a big hand.. and then when u get a big hand, they will not make u gain back enough that u have already lost by folding to them..
Its now or never imo, KJ is a good hand to do it now.

And its OBV a fold vs a 5bet.. anything else would be beyond atrocious..

Well Dunna. I thought that if I 3bet the JJ hand, he would fold but I could call and he'd barrel away. Bottled it on the river thoguh - think I maybe should have called. The KJ hand, Im happy if he folds and I cant flat in MP cause the guys after me will raise and Id just fold.

And yeah, Khan is spot on. If you wait and wait then suddenly play very strong, they just fold, so you have to pick some middling hands - that can improve- and 4bet them from time to time. You can just play for value but it's not as good.

All in all, I had a crappy day. 6BI down. couldnt hit a hand and when I did I got done in anyway by stuff i couldnt possibly have seen coming.. 44 guy, 64o guy - etc. ridonkulous beatings but I think I played pretty well given the information I had to hand. Tomorrow is another day !

villian dependant.? sp? Im drunk fwiw. dependant? depedent?
**** it I mean it depends on who it is lol

Just think a lot of villains are gonna flat their broadways there a lot, which will dominate u if u both hit. Or PPs which they'll fold otf anyway unless they hit their set.

Villain dependent i suppose.

Fwiw I'd always 3bet JJ v UTG minraise. Too many flops u just won't like if villain continues or shows strength
02-15-2013 , 07:22 PM
do you guys use a stop loss? I try too but hardly ever do. I like to think I have a 3/4 bi stop loss but then I do have losses of 9 bi from time to time.

Usually 4BIs if I'm only playing 2 tables, 5 if I'm playing more.

Got a lot better at judging when I'm playing bad and just stopping before then tho.

Never had worse than 6 BI loss in a session before quitting
02-15-2013 , 07:35 PM
I play til I cant be arsed any more (for whatever reason) never because I have won or lost $X or X buyins.

Looking on my 5nl Zoom graph tonight, Im 35BI under EV all time (120k hands). Is that good bad or whatever?

If I feel like im not playing my A game or feel tilt comin on, I will take a break..

I dont actually stop for the day ever.. I jus take breaks when needed..

So if I want to play like 5k hands in a day, I will play those 5k most of th etime... Only time I stop for the day is if I feel like theres some extremely heavy tilt coming on from not hitting any hands, being card dead for a long time, taking excessive bad beats/coolers, etc

I hate it when people are super agro to me because they noticed I fold too much maybe.. What I like to do it just flat their raises with monsters and if they have pride issues they will barrel some bluffs and you can pick up the pot later in the hand.

I have some bad days where I lose 10bi, but I do play 16 tables so that can happen pretty quickly at times.

I do feel that there are days where you will lose no matter how many hands you play the ore you play the more you lose.. so I have a smal stop loss. but thats per session, not per day.

Your very far below EV in my eyes chad. I never run below EV in the long run, wierd but maybe thats my style of play I dont know. I run above EV a lot, and then crash right back to even but never too much below.

But were all on the same path so I guess I will at some point. dont remind me.

heres my last 19 days so far in BB ( I hate that PT uses BB not bb.)

iPoker is weird. Everyone is soooooo passive. Of course, this now means I've lost two buyins by attempting to barrel what should be a capped range but of course people c/c down on the safest board ever with top two as the PFR. What the ****.

this. almost everyone is running 18/5 all tight passive on ipoker's zoom.
02-16-2013 , 09:54 AM
Weird, I never played the zoom there but the 4nl regular tables were full of maniacs.
02-16-2013 , 11:19 AM
I think micro zoom is meh in general, since you'd except fish to be playing so many hands and having a high VPIP, zoom just makes them more nitty and makes it harder to play at the micros. def still beatable though.
02-16-2013 , 12:24 PM
I think I need to get off Zoom for a while. Downswing continues there. Only 3BI below EV but the worst of it is the pot, pot shove that gets called down on a draw and so the shove looks like I'm dead but by that stage both were committed anyway. I thought I had conquered tilt and I've not I just have moved it. Now my starting cards, betting patterns and reading doesn't get worse. I have a wider PF stack off range. Tilt makes me play now QQ+ AK so to a lot of people thats an improvement from me being a nitty freak to AI's. This is a problem on a downswing as I lose all of them but in the long term my be better. The big leak is that when I have been sucked out on repeatedly I become a calling station on the river. When they C/C, C/C and then bet the river I call where normally I might muck it as I can't believe I've been drawn out on again. Even if its an obvious draw completion. And no-one at uNL ever bluffs the river when the 3 to flush drop. Hopefully first step on the road to recovery is noticing the problem and admitting its tilty and not just bad luck.

I've lost 10% of my roll in two days though so back to NL2 I go. NL10 actually treated me really well on my shot there but since then NL5 has crushed me so despite BR still $360 I'm going to try and ride out the downswing lower down. Maybe mix in some SNG's or something to stop me autopiloting and waiting for the downswing to end. I need to make it end

Easy game.

This is a problem lots have I guess.
"Don't pay them off" is the mantra.
When you have the lead and bet 3/4 pot, 3/4 pot and then the 3rd suit comes and they donk shove or donk pot, it's a pretty easy fold.
But when you are OOP and they raise, you need to fold too I think.
When the flush comes and you know they could be chasing it, what do you do? Checking says you don't have it, but betting will get raised if they do.
Bet smallish, fold is the answer.

The problem I had is where they raise river and really unlikely straights came in.
Like I 3/4 pot, 3/4 pot, 3/4 pot and they raise and you think well what beats me? 46 would make a straight but nobody would call 3bet pre, then two 3/4 pot bets with 46, so I guess I'd better call.
46 sooted buddy! Never folding sooted cards pre, then chase that straight

What an epic suck out on the AJ hand. Poor guy got absolutely screwed for his full stack.

Rest of the hands seem pretty standard to me. Maybe too big raise on the turn for the 77 hand? Looking for a two pair hand? Or just to end the hand? Not sure how many worse hands will call showing that kind of strength. But then as stated, I'm crap.
