Best 5 cards win (of a player's seven)

As posted, straight is the winning hand. Players chop the pot.

Very good post. When I first started online with play money I did a complete dry run to be ready for the real thing. I even set up spreadsheets to keep track of my results. I didn't know about tracking programs then. I wanted to know that everything I needed to play for real money, including monitoring my results and having accurate information for the IRS, was in place before I make my first deposit.

Hello everybody , Hunter here.
lets say I have hand of 2 and k, but I end up with a full house how ever I suspect the other player is with a full house but a higher kicker
Who wins the hand?

Describe what you mean by "higher kicker", the only thing that matters with a full house is the five cards that make the house

Something like:
You K2
Villain KJ

Board J82KK

Hunter, you have a lot of information missing that would help us. But specifically one bit of information missing that would help us "read" villain's hand. How did the hand play out?

In other words, what was the action pre-flop, flop, turn and river ? We really can't say what the "odds" are that someone has a higher FH without the info needed to make an assessment.

I'm new here and just getting back into poker. Poker Stars and Full Tilt used to be the sites to play on but obviously they no longer accept US players.

I have played Ignition and have had success in the MTT's but I have been looking into AmericasCardroom as well. My question; which do you prefer to play and why, are there any others that offer good MTT's?

I'm trying to record hands that I play in live NLH games but am having a heck of a time remembering how everything plays out. I'm writing notes in my phone after the hand is over but i'm missing/forgetting a lot. I know that it's going to take some practice but anyone have any tips to make this easier? Or maybe exercises I can do at home to practice this?

It's just a case of paying attention, if it's an important hand you will tend to naturally remember the key details better

I'm an old FLHE reg returning to poker after several years hiatus. Limit HE seems pretty dead now so I want get better at whatever's the most active. Am I best off playing NLHE cash games or tournaments or maybe even PLO? I'm open for anything. I have lots of time to invest and I want to be able to grind out a profit eventually.

I'm applying for a student bursary and I'm supposed to send my bank statements annotating larger debit and credit.
I have one such larger credit from Stars. Any tips on how to annotate without them thinking I'm a degenerate who'll gambool the money away?

I'm thinking about just putting "online gaming" and can elaborate if they ask, but I'm worried the vagueness will just make them more suspicious.

What is the actual wording on the statement that you will show to the company/school to get the loan?

"Credit from Stars on [date]"

Also have one from Party

"Credit from ElectraWorks Limited on [date]"

I wouldn't have to pay it back and they're probably looking to give the money away and call it a day so I don't think they'll scrutinise too hard tbh as long as I don't write "gambling money". Need something inconspicuous without just lying.

I think I'd say "poker winnings" rather than "gambling", and explain later if required.

On Hendon Mob, why is the GPI Points space either blank or grayed out for certain players in an event when most of the other players have normal (not blank or grayed out) scores?

Can you give us a link to a page showing what you mean? If you're on twitter, you'll probably get a quicker (and more accurate) answer if you send a message @TheHendonMob.

After my 3rd visit to my home poker game, I was promoted from "new guy" to "not the new guy". On 2p2 I've been a member for 5 months and just hit a milestone with my 25th post. When do I go from Newbie to Not-A-Newbie?
