Hand rankings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowball_(poker) you want the deuce-seven section at the bottom. Usually limit, sometimes pot limit? See here too: http://wiki.lowballgurus.com/article...e_Draw_Lowball

Poker Tracker 3 doesn't support Absolute Poker.

Poker Tracker 2 supports Absolute Poker.

Poker Tracker 2 is available here: http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PTH/

If you don't understand how Poker Tracker 2 works, the documentation is here: http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PTH/docs/

Okay so I've been playing online for like 5 yrs? Ever since Moneymaker won basically. Of course i was 15 back then and only played freerolls and stuff. Made ~ 500. So I FINALLY make my first deposit ever at the beginning of this month. Anyways, I have MANY questions regarding the entire process known as being an online poker player (pro). First of all my biggest question is how in the world do people deposit/withdraw ~100K+??? I see people who make like 700K a week... How do they get that money by withdrawing 2k a day? I'm talking mainly on FTP.. Also with depositting... my max was 500? How do so many people deposit more? So looking past that... Another huge question i have regards taxes.. I'm 20 years old and live in the US.. if i withdraw 2k at a time using checks/money transfers.. like what do i do? lol i hate myself.. I have many more questions so if some of you could answer these basics that would be great.. And if you think I should start a new thread or whatever just let me know! ty.

Good problem to have. Maybe don't worry about it until you have that much to withdraw.

I'm curious when he says he lost 4 times with AA and 8 times with KK, that is out of how many attempts? I've lost with those hands at least that many times, but I'm sure my winning percentage with them is around what they "should" be.

People seem to believe if they have an 87% chance of winning (AA v. 7-2o is approx 87-12, ironically AA v KK is approx 81-19) they should win 100% of the time.

The moral of this story is don't fall in love with any hand. The best example is Fred Deeb v. Johnny Chan. Johnny Chan had KK and Deeb had AA. Both went all in pre-flop, Chan had Deeb covered. Two kings came on the flop. Deeb was a perfect gentleman and shrugged it off as one of the 19% of the time he loses with this hand. Your opponent would do well to learn two lessons here; AA gets beat sometimes as a matter of course, and conducting oneself as a gentlemen or lady in the face of these beats will go a long way in being respected at the table (actual table or online.)

Does anyone have a link to this thread about playing AK?

I 4 bet and then call any shove. If you search in the SSNL forum, Lego did a bunch of math that show why this play is +EV.

I find the following two posts/threads useful:

How to use poker tracker

Poker tracker and stats

You can put what you like in a HUD, some people like the minimum (VPIP, PFR, AF, #hands) others put loads of stuff up there.

It's short for "coinflip," which describes a situation where you're not too far off of 50% to win or lose, like a pocket pair facing two overcards.

Depending on the context, "flip" may also refer to when two players sit at a head's up table after agreeing to go all-in with any two cards. Also referred to as flipaments.

I'm looking for a hand converter, that can convert hands to a .doc or .xls file. I want to convert 30+ hands in one go and be able to view them on my computer.

http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php and http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter/

Don't really seem to do that.

I think he meant a one-time occurence, not sustainable income. Like, a rich donk deposits 100K, plays nosebleeds and runs like god for a few buyins, then wants to withdraw.

Don't really seem to do that.
Open Word Pad
Cut and paste hand(s) into converter
Select "plain text" format
Convert hands
Cut and paste converted hands into Word Pad
Save as .doc file

Yes, this is what I was asking about. I should have made my question clearer. So the players just go all in on the first deal, regardless of what they are dealt? What on earth is the point of doing this?

What's the point of craps or roulette or blackjack (assuming no card counting)?

Ah excellent - a dumb questions thread! I think I'll be able to make good use of this one

I understand (from watching poker on TV) that it is not permitted to check the nuts on the river. Is this correct and why have this rule?
