Dan Harrington introduced the concept of "M" and the "Zone System" in his books Harrington on Holdem--which is a great starting place for any aspiring tournament pro.

What's the difference between 6 max and full ring in terms of strategy?

More hands for 6max because there's less people, therefore, less chance of huge hands etc.

Principally there's very little difference between being UTG in 6max and being UTG+4 in FR everyone having folded to you. Usually in 6max people's playstyle is looser in the same situation as well though (action junkies go to 6max, timid souls pick FR).

Do note that it is aimed at (micro stakes) fixed limit!

Could some define this concept: "Play to win stacks, not pots." Thanks.

It simply means that the goal of poker is to win as many chips/money as possible.

This saying suggests that it's better to win a few big pots than many small pots. This is line with tight play, where you enter fewer hands but you do so with stronger starting cards.

There could be loose players whose post-flop skills are so great they can win lots of small pots in addition to winning the big ones. So to the extent that this quote represents the conventional wisdom, it's a rule with exceptions.

But if you're wondering what the concept is, it's simply that it's better to play to win big pots with big hands rather than get tangled up in lots and lots of hands where you'll probably end up bleeding money.

It's a corollary to "tight is right" imo.

Compiling a list of tournament results is not the same as datamining hands.

You use your Pokertracker/Hold Em Manager/PokerOffice database to give you information on cash players.

You post links into your thread by using the little button above the white box where you input text that looks like a little globe with a link of chain. You highlight the text that you want to turn into a link, then you click that little box. A popup window appears and you paste the link of the page you want into the popup window.

It is a split pot, the straight on the board plays for both players (a straight beats both two pair and a set)

An OESD is four cards to a straight, that can make a straight if the card at the top end *or* bottom end comes out. It is just a high card hand on its own, it only becomes a straight if it completes with one of the 'out' cards appearing.

I have 2 questions, the first is I've seen people post graphs and charts and stuff, which I guess helps track their play. Where do I go to get those and do they work on Absolute Poker?

Second, I have a really hard time handling losing. I don't mind losing with the worse hand, because I realize I just made a play I shouldn't have made, but I can't stand losing with the better hand, because I am being punished for making the right play.

Are their any breathing excercises or vibrating cushions or any kind of de-stressers people use to relax after taking a beat? I tend to go on a rampage of tilt afterwards and make all kinds of bad plays.

Lastly, why is it that 4/5 times I get my chips in the pot with the higher % to win than the other guy, I lose?

That was 3 questions, but I just busted out of 3 SNG's in a row with better hands on all in bets.
