have you set up the poker stars configuration tab correctly so that it reads where to take the hh files from?

Thanks for replying - I will try it out today.

As for the guy who asked about Party Poker - if it hasn't been answered already - I directed pokertracker to look for the source folder under my party poker folder - there was a folder called hand histories and then it automatically updated from there. Hope this helps.

I just got Hold'em Manager, but I have no idea how to use/read it.

What settings should I use as a beginner?

On poker stars is there anyway to get ride of the fold option, when you can clearly check your option instead for free.

Also when using poker tracker, i have a "perferfered seat" selected on stars. So regradless to where i sit i will be viewing the table as i sit there. Well some times my hud stats go crazy and everyone is mixed up. How do i fix this?

Are odds of hitting a straight higher with stuff like 5-6, then with one space like 5-7. (I think they are called connectors?)

yes. with 56 you can hit 23456, 34567, 45678, 56789

with 57 only 34567, 45678, 56789

it goes connectors, one gappers, 2 gappers...

In HEM, the BB/100 is double the Pokertracker version, is that correct?

So for example if I'm beating a level at 10bb/100 in HEM, it would equal 5bb/100 in PT?

Also, most people do refer to PT BB's when they talk about beating a level don't they?

It's the opposite.

HEM default is bb/100 which translates into big blinds per 100 hands. [you can have HEM show BB/100]

PT default is BB/100 (also known as PTBB (or ptbb)/100 to make the difference obvious. And BB/100 translates into Big Bets per 100 hands. A big bet is the betting done on the turn and river in limit hold'em which is twice the big blind.

Cliffs:

bb = big blind
BB = 2bb
ptbb = BB = 2bb

Alright, how do I do the math to figure if I should call or fold this hand?

Blinds are 0.02/0.04$

I hold AQ

Folded to me on BU and I raise 0.12$. SB with 0.94$ left goes AI. BB folds. The pot is now 1.12$ and I have 0.84$ to call.

I give villain this range:

Hand 0: 54.993% 50.39% 04.60% 85425399 7797427.50 { 22+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+ }
Hand 1: 45.007% 40.41% 04.60% 68497842 7797427.50 { AhQh }

Should I call? How do I do the math behind my decision?

Assuming your range is correct, if you call 45% of the time you win $1.12 and 55% of the time you lose $.84.

(.45)(1.12)-(.55)(.84)
.504-.462
0.042

So calling worth four cents making it a marginal call. However, this doesn't account for the rake which certainly eats that up, depending on the site.

Read the various FAQs, stickies and other key threads. This is a ridiculously broad and open-ended question.

You might as well go post a on football forum and ask, "When should we pass?"

It is free and legit but it doesn't record all the hands and is not too accurate. You can see, though, if someone is a losing or winning player.

Right so beating a level for 10/bb's on HEM would be the equivalent of 20 in PT?

What are the best videos/series on Deuces Cracked for a beginner?

I've been watching "From The Ground Up" by tubasteve, and I was wondering if there were any others that I should be checking out (Micro NLHE, of course).

Also, why does 6 Max > Full Ring?
