1k-2k w/200 ante We are down to 20 players left average stack 42K. I'm in bb w/28K AQss. UTG raises to 4500 (very loose, player who had shown many rag hands), button calls and sb calls. At this point there is $17,500 and I have $25,800. The info I have on all three players who've invested the 4500 is that they are maniacs, playing very marginal hands in poor position. Putting my 25,800 in the pot would give original raiser less than 2 to 1 to make the call. I jam, he calls, button folds and sb calls as well. Flop comes with two spades for nut flush draw. SB shoves all in and utg calls. SB exposes 59 for pair of 9's. UTG happens opens AK offsuit. Turn is a blank and river is an Ace.

Did i make the right move? Please advise. Thanks in advance

Do you consider boards connected when they have 1-gapped connections?

IOW:
AQ2
A97
KJ9
J97
246

Obviously if it's
TJ9
A45
KQ7

^^^ these are connected flops yes?

There is no one proper way.

This is an exerpt from my Well thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...n=&page=0&vc=1

I think most importantly, I know best how I learn. This is different for everybody. Getting back to cardrunners, for some people watching videos is an excellent way to learn. I know it's not for me.

Whenever you're going to learn something new, the most important step is picking the best way to learn. That's simply a personal matter of figuring out how you best absorb new knowledge and skills.

I know I learn best by doing. (tinkering, experimenting, making mistakes)

Next I learn best through discussion, the Socratic method, argument and comparing diverging ideas.

I also learn really well through reading (these last two are actually pretty close and can easily be flipped depending on the quality of book/discussion).

In particularly, I do really well by combining these methods. ie: Tinkering with reference material handy. Or tinkering while talking about it. Or all three.

The least effective way I learn is through a Lecture. In school, classes and teachers were pretty much irrelevant to me unless there was really good discussion. I'd already learned everything from the books and working it out on my own.

This is different for everyone. Some people are really exceptional with one and crap at all of the others. Some are decent at all and have no real preference.

Once you figure out how you learn best, learning becomes an awful lot easier.

This is a question for cake players.

I just started playing at cake, and when I open the client the lobby just says "Know what your gold cards are worth?" etc etc. And when I click on the left where it says ring games, sit n goes, and tournaments, nothing happens. The same annoying gold card screen remains. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I just wanna play some ****ing cards.

PS I was gonna upload a print screen image but am too lazy.

For game type, i.e. ring game, tournament, etc, click Sit n go, then there should be an option for steps. You'll find all the steps tournies there.

Is there a live, legal poker odds calculator? I have started using Poker Tracker but would like to have software that would estimate the strength of hole cards on a live basis. Apologies if this is a stupid question but ...

What is a good AFq percentage at 2nl. When I have the best hand I just bet, bet, bet, rather than slowplaying and trying anything fancy. I've read on google it should be low? Is this the case, and if so why? What am I doing wrong?

Building a roll from nothing, finally cashed for $2.25 in a Razz freeroll, so my question is what should I do now? keep playing freerolls till I build a bigger roll or play cash for a minimum buy-in or what? and what game should I play?, which would help me build my roll the best

2.25 is not enough of a BR to play the lowest stakes. .01/.02 NL would take about $50. Maybe .10 sng if they are offered on your site. So short answer is yes keep grinding out freerolls.

Am I allowed to post any hand in the micro full ring forum?

I kind of thought the deal was I could do this and then people would comment on my hand and give advice. I did it and although I got a few people who gave advice and analysis, most people would just tell me I don't know what I'm doing and I need to go read more. They seemed offended that I would have the audacity to post, but isn't that the whole point? If I knew what to do I wouldn't be posting. Am I too dumb to post in that forum? Is there a better forum to post hands for analysis and advice in? I play 5nl btw.
