Considering transferring my roll to 888 from stars to bonus whore + play soft games.

Any reasons not to?
11-02-2013 , 10:53 PM
The software is so-so, and there aren't that many active tables at a time.

Softest Zoom pool ever tonight and I couldn't hit ****. Hands:

1) Total 'ffs' moment but obviously can't fold.

Solid start to Nov, booked a nice 350 win at 1/2 live last night. Haven't played live for a while so was worried I'd be a touch rusty, instead quite happy with performance. Might hit up the live games a bit more this month, far less stressful than online grinding.

also TDA, AA is easiest fold bro, JJ is probably a good fold

Games are soft, rake is high, software is ok but clunky. You can't play more than 6 tables at a time. I've never had a problem with traffic. Yeah there's not a bajillion tables like on Stars but still plenty to choose from and all are soft.

Why not just play some play money there first to see if you're gonna be ok with the software before depositing
      11-03-2013 , 03:35 AM
@Birdayy, prefer calling turn as we block a lot of FD combos and need to let him keep bluffing.

Think about what hand range you would raise on that turn, and what bluffs you can have. Doesn't matter too much against this villain but something to consider in general

Might give it a go. Played there a year or so ago with the free $8 but the software was pretty horrid imo.

We have little to no bluffing range when we shove over an overbet. I agree that we should consider this vs regs, but donk overbets aren't that common.

In regards to calling, don't we risk him check/folding busted draws OTR vs calling off OTT?

I think it's hard to estimate how often he'll bluff shove river given we havn't played many hands with him.
      11-03-2013 , 04:02 AM
Same risk of folding OTT and OTR, although fish tend to think like "right, I'm bluffing this guy in this hand" rather than thinking about what hands are good for their and our range.

You also have to consider that if you are raising turn every time with 2P+ then you cannot get to the river with a strong range, if other players are paying attention
      11-03-2013 , 04:08 AM
Anybody have any idea how long it will take to clear a $400 deposit on 888 at 10/25nl?

      Think i'll deposit after finals.

@dunna agreed, but as I said it's extremely rare for regs to take this line so although it is a consideration I don't think it's super important to remain balanced.

I don't know mate sorry. They don't have 25nl though, 20nl or 30nl. Just played a little half hour session there and it's lolbad at 10nl, and wasn;t much better at 20nl when I used to play that.

I only keep a small roll on there and mainly use it for donkaments then make the BI back in cash games. They're lolbad too but gotta love the bad beats.

Patience is the name of the game there, the bad players (of which there'll be a few at your table) will spew to you, you just need to wait. Don't be afraid to leave a table if you've got a difficult player to your left, every table usually has at least 2 fish on it
      11-03-2013 , 05:23 AM
Remember when I played at 888, every flop was multiway
So always ended up playing a lot OOP as you raise and get 3 callers, or iso from CO and get 3 callers.
Don't remember seeing many solid reg types tbh.
      11-03-2013 , 05:27 AM
There's a few I saw at 20nl, but mainly aggro fish and drooling fish, and shortstackers obv.

Annoying thing was always that tables break fairly often.

If you can remain thinking clearly and tilt-free, then there's money to be made there for definite, but then there is at sites like Stars too...
      11-03-2013 , 05:38 AM
16nl is really interesting limit on stars. More regs:fish than other limits but it's still softer than 25nl as the regs aren't that great.

They tend to multitable a ****load (i was playing 6 tables today and every table had 3 of the same regs). It's kinda fun messing with them (3betting their CO raise OTB) because they rarely fight back due to the amount of tables they play.

Deep 10nl tables are also pretty profitable.
      11-03-2013 , 06:32 AM
I find there's more fish at 16nl than 10nl, the whales must love the wierd bet sizings. What's your screenname Birday?
      11-03-2013 , 06:38 AM
