I asked in the Ignition/Bodog Poker Card Catcher HUD thread in internet poker about their card catcher as i was after a tool that would save my hands to hm2 so i can review them after playing, anyway after a few replies the mod for the thread replied with this

With the card catcher you're going to capture all of your data in real time and be able to run a HUD. Using normal poker showdown rules, if your opponent has to show their hand, then that data will be there. They don't always have to show though. But any time that information is provided by the site, it will be available for review.
The hand converter on the other hand provides ALL hole cards for your opponents. That means even if they folded pre-flop, you see their hands. Showdown, no showdown, it doesn't matter.

I'm just wondering how they can see the cards that were folded preflop etc?
