I have one question and it probably varies...but maybe I can get a idea from somebody here

How many hands should I play before I can seriously start analyzing my play (pre, post, turn and river) I know I'm a losing player but at what point is it more than just luck?

50k hands?

You should always be analyzing your play and skill will always be an element of poker.

I can tell withing 100 hands if I'm losing against my opponent(s).

If I can't tell withing 100 hands the edge either way is so small I probably shouldn't keep playing. I can tell because of some major error my opponent is making or just general stategic errors, no need to have 100k hands to tell me that.

One thing I'd recommend, is at the end of each session, look through your hand histories (This is much easier if you have poker tracker/hold'em manager, which both offer a free trial of), and try find some hands you think you played badly or played well and try analyze what you've done in those hands to try repeat the successes and reduce the failures.

I'm not even close to being an amazing player myself, but I've beaten the micro's (NL2, NL5 and NL10, with a little NL25) at full ring for some years now, playing on and off.

If you want to discuss hands you're welcome to add me on skype. I don't think I have access to pm's just yet, but I'm sure in a few days I'll have enough posts for it, so feel free to send me a pm with your skype and we can talk hands on there!

hard to say cause when youre a noob even if you are a winning player the edge is going to be so small that theres a chance that you'll be losing after 100k even though you're plus ev. Play around with some standard deviation calculators and you'll see what I mean. Generally speaking though you can usually tell after about 100k hands

Thank you all for the valuable input!

I realize I can run HOT or COLD in as little as 2k hands with a series of all ins pre and post flop, for example AK vs 55 or TJs vs 22 pre

But my question was really more geared towards when I flop different types of hands and if
I'm playing them correctly, like when I flop a set or even a flush draw

I don't wanna just analyze my preflop and flop decisions, but also my turn and river decisions when I hold different
Types of made or unmade hands

You can/should analyze your hands after each session imho.

Regarding sample size, I'd say at least 10K hands, depending on which format we're talking about here.
