Hi there (+excuses for my English),

Long story short : I want to start grinding my way outta poker. First step is (imo) BankRoll Management. I thought about it a couple of time, and here are the results.

Wanted to know if, according to you, it’s OK or if I have to change some part of it. Any help / advices / etc. will be appreciated !

How it works :
  • BankRoll to start grinding : $250 (1), playing NL10 (2 tables first, up to 4) ;
  • When hopefully BankRoll reach $750 (2), start playing NL25 (1 or 2 table first, with 1 or 2 NL10 table).
  • In between, when BankRoll go up from $300 to $550 (3a): shoot allowed at NL25. But after a 4 Buy-In loss, move down to NL10 with BankRoll = $450 (3b) ;
  • If BankRoll is down to ‘fourth column value’ (4), move down to previous limit.

Why those numbers :
  • Number of ‘Buy-In needed to play’ (Second column) at each limits increases while I move up ;
  • When a majority (60% exactly, fifth column) of the “road to next limit” is done, I can shoot next Limit.
  • Shooting the higher limit is limited to 4 Buy-Ins (sixth column). If I lose them, I move down, and continue grinding.
  • With the increase of the ‘number of Buy-In needed to play’, the ratio (4 Buy-In loss of Limit+1)/BankRoll is decreasing. It means that the higher the limits, the smaller the “shoot up” is going to impact my BankRoll, if it fails.
  • Shooting higher limits is allowed only when my BankRoll is increasing (I can’t try to shoot NL50 if I am moving down from NL100, but it’s OK if I was previously grinding NL25)

Feel free to correct my English : sorry, French-Noob here !

Many t’anks, comrades.

Sounds solid and a good start, just by taking the time to formulate that plan shows you are light years ahead of most beginners. Just make sure you stick to it and things should work out fine. You will have moments of weakness when you want to deviate from it but stay STRONG

Looks good - I operate something similar but I like your idea of taking shots. Might borrow it...

It's a good and solid plan. If you stick to it, you'll be able to grind for a long time..
