id try to get it in on flop or turn, clearly the guys willing , and there are lots of uncompleted draws. why did u slowplay it

That, once he's checkraised you that's generally an indication he wants to play for stacks, and we have middle set on an ace high board. I kind of like the play of just calling the flop with the intention of jamming over a turn bet, just to let villain get a bit too deeply involved when you're telling him he's losing, but it's kind of important to actually do that

After you get check raised OTF, just shove.

You flopped a set, so you want to play for stacks.

Remember this, when you flop a set and lose the hand, if you don't lose a lot, you played it wrong.

This is the way to play almost all sets.

Never say never in poker is another axiom.

Never fold a set....... is close to accurate here though. This board is fairly dry for a set. Get your chips into the pot on the turn.

Villain flats pre with three callers in front of him. If he had aces he likely three bets pre - I can’t see why he’d slow play with that much action. Villain’s likely holdings given that PF action plus his flop XR would seem to be Ax, possibly with the 8 or 5 kicker giving him 2 pair, 55, or some kind of bluff combo, possibly a 76s giving the OESD. Less likely would be AA (as discussed above), 88 (obviously less likely because of your holding), or some other pocket pair he’s overplaying. You really are only concerned about the SD and maybe AA. It’s an easy river call vs his likely range, but with that SD as a possible little, IMO you should have shoved the flop or the turn.
