k9 - fold pre, garbage hand oop vs his 3bet range, regardless if he has 30% or not in ur small sample

a7 - fold pre, garbage hand to take to a 3bet mw pot, and I would say ur lucky to have the best hand there, ur call is thin as hell.. N look at the MASSIVE value u got from utg on turn river lol.. damn.. and when utg actually has Ax he will prob bet riv if turn is ch/ch, so hes gonna win more n u gona lose more.. just a zz hand no point to play it

a8 - fold pre, garbage hand to take oop heads up + risk squeeze with.. I might consider 3betting tho if btn has a high fold to 3bet
03-31-2013 , 07:32 AM
^+1 except A7 hand, anything I Iso there i'm not folding. Its only 15c more ito a 90c pot.

And I think its a missed value bet OTR. I don't think he ever has Ax beaten. I'd bet like 1/3P.

A8- yeah 3bet or fold pre. Cold calling raggy aces i the worst position is a losig play. And if you think his range is wide OTF you should call not raise. You beat all his bluffs with A high. Your repping nothing when you raise.

Roszz, tbh you played all of those hands badly. Stop treating TP like it's the nuts, stop calling off to fish otr.

If u folded every time your bets got raised in the micros it wouldn't be a massively losing play
        03-31-2013 , 08:46 AM
        ^^+1.
        03-31-2013 , 08:56 AM
True, getting raised a lot though, how can it they always have it?
        03-31-2013 , 09:02 AM
H2 was played well up until the river. Just fold

H3 2x 3betting OFT is just spewy. There aren't many worse hands he will call with on that dry board.
        03-31-2013 , 09:06 AM
At 10NL, a postflop minraise is usually 'I have the nuts, I don't want you to fold but I want value' or 'I want you to fold please, I have nothing'. Probably something like 80% to the former, 20% to the latter. Think about it a bit, then work out how you can use that to your advantage.
        03-31-2013 , 09:41 AM
I think once we understand that folding is also a way of exploiting people then the game becomes a lot easier. As long as ur not playing like a complete pussy obviously
        03-31-2013 , 09:44 AM
That's maby what I'm afraid of I don't mind folding my good hands, but when I got raised over and over again some chemical reaction in my mind takes place and I slowely loose all rational control

I read Elements of Poker by Tommy Angelo and I obviously didn't learn anything from it as my C-game is all over the place

        THIS

If the villain has a better hand than you, you exploit him by making the 0EV choice and folding, and by putting money in the pot when the reverse is true.
        03-31-2013 , 12:33 PM
Anyone want to comment on this hand ?

It is 8game, so the majority of villains will in no way be as strong as a 200NL reg.

Villain is pretty much unknown, seems kinda nitty, and fairly passive, but I have like 10 hands on him at NLHE. He plays the other games similarly though, given the still small sample size.

I considered a 3b pre, but I don't think I am necessarily ahead of his range here, and although I haven't seen him facing a 3b my guess is he may call a lot IP. Also, he minraises, lolpotodds says I call here. Right/wrong ?

Flop c/r seemed like the best line for value. I am definitely prepared to stack off here. sizing ?

Turn sizing seemed about right to me (?)

River I considered shoving. Is that better/worse than 75% pot ?

Meh, tough one as I'm guessing minraise means something different at this level than the micros but...

Pf seems fine for the reasons you said. No point 3betting with no reads and bloating a pot oop. If u were SB I'd say fold, but as ur completing it's ok imo.

Agree with flop ch/raise if ur prepared to stack off. U want money in the pot. Sizing is on the large side but i like it considering u say villain is passive. As he's also tight he'll fold his air but can def call with worse draws. I'd rather be aggressive with this draw oop. IP I'd just call.

Turn is good size for value. His range is pretty narrow now tho when he calls to sets and worse flushes. If he is NITty then he'd probably fold his overpairs here

River i'd go smaller and bet/fold around $48. There's only 5 combos of SC we are getting value from and there's should be no way he's calling any overpairs here. So that leaves 9 set combos that just made it otr.

I don't like shoving as that just folds out worse and gets called by better. Make it a size he can make a crying call with imo. If he's as you described he won't be raising you without a boat here ever
        03-31-2013 , 01:29 PM
I guess villian is calling here, since he did call the turn, and would only be raising with better since he hasn't done anything out of line yet. Would expect him to c/f turn with a set with your strong bet size, and yeah, I'd bet smaller on the river too for thin value. If villian floats then I would consider c/c river as an alternate line. imo flop sizing seems pretty awesome.

        there goes my $0.02, from a 5nl reg :P

          March over.
Had a big break in the middle of the month and played some 2NL zoom which isn't included here.
This is 5NL at FTP, my first month playing 5NL.
If it hadn't have been for -3BI in one go between 6.5k and 6.9k hands I'd have been breakeven.
