I'm on holiday and only have access to 2p2 on iPhone without 3g. Painfully slow but keeping me sane. Been thinking about my game and goals. How you you make goals.

Currently I have short term (until aug) med term (end of year) and long term.

Some are time dependent ie x hands. And sone are task dependent ie beat xNL.

I feel by setting goals I will be able to stay focussed.

I'm not sure what I'm asking buy is this on the right track?

To be honest I feel like you should only set goals that you can achieve by only working hard. Therefore X amount of hands is much better than X amount of money. If you want to have some kind of money goal than have something that you probably can achieve by working hard. Such as work your way up from NL5 to NL25 during a year.
That's the kind of goals I try to set.

It can be hand dependent or hours played dependent. I don't think monetary goals should be set for beginners, if you hit your goal you may feel inclined to stop, and if you don't reach it, you feel like you really failed and you have to try much harder to reach it. If you fail or beat a hands played goal, it doesn't affect the mind as much (I think).
