Hello-

I'm currently looking for either a training site or poker book recommendation, or both. I've read most of the books published pre 2010, and a few since.

Specifically- any recommendations for

1. Modern Hold'em Concepts, Game Theory, etc-

2. Modern Holdem MTT strategy books, ICM focused books.

3. HU SNGs strategy (I've read Moshman's HU book way back, but I'm sure we are beyond that even at smaller stakes where ICM/Nash Equillibrium/Solvers are probably closer to what will be needed now.


If you know good books on these subjects, drop em- if not which training site seems appropriate?

So basically- I'm looking to continue learning and improving. I'm actually enrolled in a Game Theory course at Stanford, but I'm in Week 2 lol.

FTGU has several courses including MTT and SNG

Pretty sure I've seen GTO specific training courses around, but can't remember on which site, shouldn't be too hard to find.

I would assume Upswing has HU stuff?

if ur a HU player prolly hard to get away without a solver tbh? i do HU cash and afaik i dont remember ever finding HU content that i thought was any good.. its just such a personal thing being that deep inside of another guy 1on1 .. there is a lot of nodelocking and tendency exploits .. maybe GTO trainer helps some so at least you know what base line tendencies feel like, the use ur noggin on how to exploit deviations

maybe run it once's theory section, the videos were good ..

Dara O'Kearney and Barry Carter have just published a brand new book on ICM - "Endgame Poker Strategy: The ICM Book" - and it's meant to be superb.

I've got it coming from Santa in a few weeks hopefully, but if it's as good as their previous two books; "PKO Poker Strategy" - and the seminal -"Poker Satellite Strategy", then it should be brilliant.

I wonder what kind of value a book on ICM could offer.
Isn't ICM just studying spots and memorizing them basically?
There really isn't that much to it?
Maybe if you start looking at the exploitative side?
