Last year I switched to cash games instead of tournaments and I tend to play different than the other cash players. I know my play style is not recommended but it seems to work for me and im not sure if/what I should change. I do keep track of my sessions.

1: How long is your normal sessions and is it based on win/loss rate or time.

2: How many buy-ins is your limit. Is it always max buy-in or a lower amount.

3: How often do you leave ahead and how often behind. When leaving ahead what is average amount? When leaving behind is it normally because you loose everything or some other amount.

4: What is your hour win rate for those who are positive and at what level.

5: How often do you play. Hours per day, week and month.

6: Is Vegas worth it for cash games? Iv been playing cash games throughout the country (i travel a lot) and im not sure if I should even bother with Vegas anymore as I no longer need to go there for the event tournaments. (still have a trip planned next month to Vegas).

=======================================

As a long time tournament player I was used to playing longer tournaments but for some reason I get exhausted much faster when playing cash. At first I was trying to play long session but for the past twelve months Iv switched to only four hour sessions. This has greatly increased my win rate.

I never seem to have a really great night, but I also never seem to have a terrible night. My variance has greatly decreased which I like, but I feel my style will only work for $1/2. I had planned to move to $2/5 as my bankroll grew to my required amount I set myself, but after playing $2/5 a few times I just felt it was to much for me.

On 6, all things being equal I'd be nowhere else other than Vegas, assuming the Orleans' spread of non-NLHE post government meltdown is like it was in 2019

this thread will have all of your answers

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...nances-771192/

1. I play as long as I feel like I am playing well and am motivated to play winning/losing has very little to do with how long i play

2. I buy in max and I have a minimum of 700 bb's with me

3. I win approx 2/3 of my sessions - my big wins dwarf my big losses

4. I win more than 10bb/hr

5. I am no longer full time but when i was i would target 2k hrs per year. Biggest year approx 2150 hrs. I preplan my year so some months are bigger hours (wsop, march madness, etc)

6. vegas cash games are fine - but the hinterlands are better

1: How long is your normal sessions and is it based on win/loss rate or time.

8 hours, based on time, I tend to leave after about 6 hours if I'm getting bored or frustrated. I'm a hobbyist not a pro so I don't need to stay if I don't want to.

2: How many buy-ins is your limit. Is it always max buy-in or a lower amount.

I bring $1500 to $2000 to the casino. At 2/3 I buy in for the max of $500, at 2/5 I'm buying in for $500 or $600 not the max of $1K.

3: How often do you leave ahead and how often behind. When leaving ahead what is average amount? When leaving behind is it normally because you loose everything or some other amount.

I win about 60% of the time. Don't know what average win is. Rarely lose everything.

4: What is your hour win rate for those who are positive and at what level.

About 15 AUD an hour at 2/3.

5: How often do you play. Hours per day, week and month.

Pre-covid, about 8 hours every 2 weeks.

6: Is Vegas worth it for cash games? Iv been playing cash games throughout the country (i travel a lot) and im not sure if I should even bother with Vegas anymore as I no longer need to go there for the event tournaments. (still have a trip planned next month to Vegas).

No idea, I'm in Sydney.
