Real newb questin here - I have read - Harringtons book for one - that it can be a good play to limp in late position with suited connectors when there are lots of limpers in before you - real basic question - what is alot of limpers or is there a general break out of "alot of " meaning at a full ring table ( 9 players ) and I am on the button are three callers before me a lot or two or four etc.. I understand that that this relates to pot odds as well -

I would guess to say 4 or more.

like most everything in no-limit, it depends.

more limpers = better immediate pot odds

more limpers = better implied odds, because there's a better chance one of them will have a hand strong enough to pay off your monster.

of course, more limpers means a better chance one of them will have a monster, that you'll pay off with a pretty good hand, so be careful.

who the limpers are is important. Two weak players who will be out of position to you the whole hand is probably good enough.

stack sizes are important. Short-stacked limpers are pretty useless to you if you have 56s, no matter how many there are.

never underestimate the importance of position, especially with a speculative hand. If there's a strong chance a strong player will limp behind you, that's bad. If there's a strong chance someone will raise big behind you, that's also bad. Even if you're on the button, but there's a maniac in the blinds, take that into account.
