About to deposit 100 . What would i learn more at Using bankroll management and starting at 5nl or having just four buyins for 25nl and seeing what i can do with that .

Ive beaten 5nl/10nl in the past but i withdrew my whole roll for expenses ect and i generally feel that i will learn more at 25nl as there is tougher opposition and more thought has to be put into things

Am i right in thinking this ? Would like to hear your opinion on things

thanks

All you'll learn playing 25NL with 4 buyins is how to redeposit.

Put it this way: If you were learning to read, would you start with The Cat in the Hat, or Atlas Shrugged?

You say you have already beaten NL10. If this is the case and you are able to redeposit then play that, but if not then play NL5.

But whatever you do, don't play NL25.

I wouldn't jump in at 25NL, 4 buyins just isnt enough.

Play 5NL/10NL because if you have successfully beaten those then you shouldn't have too much trouble getting to 25NL.

If you're willing to redeposit, work out your true BR(aka how much would you deposit before you stop poker) and play 25NL if it's over 600$ imo.

If not, just play 5NL and work your way up.

You won't learn much if you go busto in <1k hands.

Yes, this is correct. There is a little bit of a "jump" from 10NL to 25NL. But its not worth it with 4 buy-ins. If you can beat 10NL, yes you can probably beat 25NL also. I think 25NL is the first "serious" level. Where there's a mixture of fish who deposit $100 and play 25NL or 50NL (hehe) and then theres people who are actually grinding it and reading 2p2. Start at 5NL until you hit $200. Move up to 10NL then. Play 10NL until you hit $500 and then start at 25NL.

you could end up putting all 4bi's in ahead, getting sucked out on and having diddly squat left.

5nl brm ftw

If you really don't want to redeposit, that's not nearly enough, even for the best players out there.

It feels you haven't played a whole lot, if you haven't experienced 10BI downswings.

I've deposited 50-100$ often on different sites and started straight from NL10, but it's pretty much gambling. You're just hoping you run good.

I think that is fine for that level as long as you know you can beat it and have done so recently. Just make sure you don't mind dropping down if you get sucked out on.

Just want to throw this out there..
Being a bankroll nit is awesome. It helped me overcome my "fear" of losing too much. It really helped me make better decisions overall.

You can just keep playing $25NL on $100 and $200 deposits until one of them finally sticks and you don't have to deposit anymore.

Expect to have to deposit again, though, because 4 buy-ins with little experience, you'll probably lose it.

Personally I think below $25NL is a total waste of time unless you're just testing the software out. You can make more at McDonald's.

I think people tend to seriously overrate bankroll management at micro stakes. Losing your roll at micros doesn't mean anything, you can just replace it later on if that happens.

If it's your last $100 before you're homeless, I'd play 1c/2c with $2 per table. But really, if it's truly your last $100, I'd be looking for a job and not risking homelessness on microstakes. So it's like a dichotomy

You're overlooking a major part of the poker community, which are students. Besides, jobs are under the rock these days.

its not like everyone is trying to make a ****ton of money by doing this. No you're not going to win much at anything below 25nl, but why would you start there to learn the game. I am a broke ass college student, $100 is a lot for me. And at these times, I'm sure there's a lot of other people who can't deposit $100 to online poker everytime they lose 4 buy-ins.
