nicely done gina, im unable to see the screen up very close but what is your hand count at now? also i would be interested in sharing strategies and helping each other out at the micro stakes with anyone who is interested.. (particularly .01/.02, .02/.05 and .05/.10NL) i seen a post on thie earlier.... not sure what exactly we can do... but theres gotta be someone or a little from everyone.. that has some good information that would be specific to these levels in someway... i'm a 15/12 nitty tag player i guess you would call me... and ran hot for a while but found my self a a cooler 3 days ago and hopped in it... anyway.. time to step back a bit and reflect and try to learn from it... be great to make a few friends along the way that are in this grind.. and compare strategies and learn.. i have teamviewer also and we could chat on yahoo... if anyone is interested pm me...

10,400 hands. 12.8 ptbb/100 (usually it's about 15 longterm, but I must have needed to throw away about 13.00 in stupid hero-calls today and screwed it up).

VPIP: 13.3, PreFlop Agg: 8.7 (these should normally be closer together, but you can limp small pocket pairs in 2nL in early position).

I guess it looks kind of nitty, but when you have 15 tables going, it's more than enough action to keep you always in a hand or two. If I played on a desktop I'd probably try 24 tabling, but I simply can't do it with a laptop and touchpad.

I have Aim and when I'm not already doing 3 things at once, usually have it up when I play. It's gstarrduster. As far as strategies go, just playing straight ABC poker is the absolute best thing to get out of the micros- that and putting in the volume. I find lots of tables helps keep me from making ******ed adjustments to the ******ed play I see way too often on 2nL tables.

Gina, at 10k hands you're not at long-term yet. Sexy graph, though.

I've run up my online poker funds from 20 bucks a few times now. I have about 200k hands in 2nL all told, haha. Somehow I doubt anyone would want that old Pt2 database tho.

Edit to add: yes, I really AM that cheap, and I do enjoy making something out of almost nothing

cool thread, i did something similar earlier this month...

started w/$50 deposit via gift card.

short-stacked .02/.04 NL and PLO with $1 buy ins, playing maybe 3 or 4 tables max.

account balance is now at $275 and im pretty much only doing PLO exclusively. have been nothing but a bankroll nit and am just beginning to mix in .05/.1 PLO tables(again short stacking for $2)

hoping that if i am a bankroll nit i can avoid bustoville and eventually supplement my income a tad. as of now my BR rules are to always have 100-200 BIs(at least while i shortstack)

hey,
just stumbled onto this thread, which turns out to be the one ive always been looking for . I didn't quite start off on exactly the same boat as you guys (I deposited $100 to start off) but I'm going through the same journey nonetheless.
This is 4 tabling 6max at micros.

1st week at 2NL I managed to double up to $200,
2nd week I got to $350 at 5NL,
3rd week was a bit of a disaster, got up to $420 or so on 10NL in the first 4 days, then proceeded to go down to $320 initially through bad beats then through stupid play.
4th week, lost a bit of confidence, and broke even for a coupla days. Then decided to switch to 1 tabling with some good results, and now am at $420 again. Not sure whether to continue 1 tabling or not.

Hey Gina, I railed you a bit on Friday I think it was, and I think you play similar to me. I just caught a hand or two here and there since I was watching a movie, and caught mostly your bad beats I think : p In particular I remember the hand where you lost to quads, don't remember the details, but It looked like you had either a big pocket pair, or hit a set on the flop. And he had like a silly hand and hit quad sixes or whatever.

Basically my approach for 2 and 5nl is patience. I started out raising every hand I played after reading WCGs post, but now that I've become a bit more comfortable I limp with more hands like low pocket pairs and suited aces from late position mostly. I've also started limping a lot with my aces from UTG because I've finally learned that I can fold them post flop Xp, and if I make a sizable raise pre flop I usually end up only taking the blinds, so I prefer to gamble, if someone has a strong hand, they'll usually raise you anyway.

All in all I just play straight forward poker, I usually don't try to call down bluffs because a lot of the time, they don't bluff. But, if the hand has played out really weird, or I have a decent hand I'll do it, and yeah, people do bluff a lot, but I've been burned pretty hard on that too.

That was the most heinous beat/stackoff i did in the past two days. After he called 15x preflop out of position, I just *couldn't* (more likely- Wouldn't) put him on quads. But if you're going to stack off, losing to quads is the way to do it, I suppose. Strangely, on another table almost simultaneously I lost with a flopped boat to a rivered over-boat on another table for about 7.00 when he called my shove on the turn. There's nothing quite like being spanked by Stars on a 2nL table.

On the positive, all of those bad calls are the reason these games are so profitable, and when you're playing strong hands, lets face it most of your beats are either going to be bad beats or times when the hand should have been let go.

I don't think I'll be playing much today. If I do, it'll be for an hour or two later tonight after I return from Eric's place. Good luck at the tables!

Yay, just ended what I think is the worst losing session so far in my career

Decided to call it quits when villain called down 90% of his stack with 10k Vs my AK and hit 10 on the river :/ Atleast i can blame 15$ on All in EV, (and probably another 15-20$ on people who hit cards on the river when they have already committed a large % of their stack) But that still leaves 10$ which probably were my fault 8[ Such is poker I guess.

earl if you carry on playing you'll have worse sessions than that no matter how well you play. I thought that might cheer you up but if it depresses you apologies
