I would be min reraising with Aces and stuff like that and through all the grind, I did earn my worth. Unfortunately I had to pay my bills so I withdrew it all and than had $20 left on Pokerstars and I decided that I wanted more than what STTs could give me and I knew cash was a dangerous monster. With $20 and a grind, I built it to almost $1k in a month. I realized how slow FR is earning wise in comparison to 6max so I had to start over again so that when I am playing 100NL, that I am ready to play at these stakes and not that I got here by some mistake of a hot streak.

So at the beginning of this month, I started grinding 10NL with $80 and now I'm back at 25NL and I know variance can hit me but I know I can beat 25NL. (I don't practice much bankroll management under 25NL)
Thanks for the explanation, makes sense now.

Definitely doable.

I started with $20AUD ~ $15US at the time.

NL2 through NL25. Moving up to NL50 within 5-10 BI.

GL all.

BR update.
I have been playing the 1-2c games so crazily tonight. I have raised in my BB when it has been limped to e to 10 cent with any two connecting cards. Have raised about 60% of the hands and have somehow had a winning session. I am tired and have just been throwing my money in the pot with nothing a lot, but when i i have monsters i am getting paid off with people calling most of there staks with middle pair. I honestly did not expect to win tonight, just having fun, and am now up to $62.01.

Well I also had a great start yesterday playing the $1.75 18 seater turbos only. I played around 70 games and got my bankroll upto $62.95. I will continue to play these until my bankroll gets to around $150 then I will start taking shots at the $3.40 18 seaters and take it from there.

HI, this is my first post on the forums just to let you know that I am trying to do exactly this task. Deposited $20 on stars last night and am currently at $63.17. I did this by playing 2c/5c NL on Stars, buying onto a table with $5 then leaving when I hit $8, playing 2 tables at a time and keep moving the bankroll upwards. Was just wondering if anyone had any advice on when to move to 5c/10c NL. I was thinking to move when I hit $100. Any opinions? Thanks.

I'm in. $25 up to $50 in a little under two weeks.

I've been following this routine: 3 table $0.01-$0.02 nl for 30-45 mins, take a break, then 4 table $0.05-$0.10 limit for 30-45 mins, take a break, then two table 90 man sngs.

I don't use a hud, and I don't have a ton of time to play - maybe 3-5 sessions a week of about 2 hours.

I deposited 100 on stars just about two weeks ago. Played 10NL until 300, now 25NL. I'm up to $895. I plan on playing 25NL at least until the end of the month, and longer if I hit some bad variance and don't have 1500 yet. I think starting about 25NL bankroll management becomes very important.

Also, if you play on Stars and have trouble sticking to a limit, go under the responsible gaming and restrict your table limits to nothing above that level. Helps a lot!

It can be done. The 3rd time I deposited $50 I finally figured it out. After 14 months I have a $15,500 BR. I started playing tourneys because I was better at that then cash games. The $5/45 player sng's at PS are very soft. When I had $500 I moved to the $10/45's which are equilly soft, however there is a smattering of multi-table sharks to look out for. ( I used OPR.com to identify those players). As my BR grew towards $1000 I would take an occasional shot at the MTT $27.50's and a few $55 MMT's. When my BR reached $3500 I started taking more shots at $55 MTT's & a few $109 MTT's.

Then I finnally hit. Three weeks ago in the $55 nightly $70K I chopped for top pay out of $12,000. Bingo, +15K BR. It was a grind, but well worth it. The WSOP is my next stop this summer.

My advice is to always keep trying to move up to the higher stakes because obv. that's where the real money is. You need to be patient. Don't move up until you have at least 35 to 50 buy ins. It' ok to take a shot once in awhile at a bigger tourney but don't do it so much that your BR is at risk. Good luck.

Grinding $1.1 DoNs on stars. Made almost $300 from $5 in less than two weeks.

Will jump to $5.2 soon when I feel confident.

Micro DoNs are great to build BR because of no variance (ie. the worst streak means having +5% ROI for 100 tourneys, or so, when your avg ROI is 20%+).

I started from play chips, got up to 2 mill or so in a week, sold for $16 and got up to $28, had a bad a day and crashed to $10, currently back up to $23..

Will post more updates tomorrow as its like 3:30am

been doing the same thing myself

6 tabling stars .01/.02 NL with 5% of my bankroll on each table

Went from 20 to 60 since wednesday.

The only problem I'm having is remembering to play for chips not for money. It's taken a bit but I'm able to be serious about pots that won't even buy a pack of crackers from the school vending machine.

I tried DONs for a while but they are so boring I have trouble playing my A game.

On a funny note, I did about 15 360 man .10 MTTs and sat them all out. Cashed in 4 of them. So almost +EV to sign up and just not play.

I went from 15$ the amount I deposited to 22$ in one day then a 10$ Headsup sng and some bad play took me back to 8$................
Hardest thing about poker is BR management

I would personally wait until you have $200 for NL10 or maybe start playing 1 table or 5NL and 1 table on 10NL when you have around $150.

For the first time today I tried the $1.10 DON's just to see what they was like and to see if there is less varience in them and I was amazed to see what horrid play there was in them, people was quite happy to put all there chips on the line in the first few levels with 77 or AJ etc...

I played 60 of these in a little under 2 1/2 hours 20 tabling and won 44 out of 60 to show a good profit.

I am swithcing to the $5.20's now and will only 8 table them to start off with and see if the play is any better but this seems to be a great way to build your bankroll if you know the correct stratergy.

I don't reccomend mass multi tabling these to start off with if your not used to it but the only reason I am doing so is because I have a pretty good SNG background, I used to 12 table the 18 man SNG's and was showing a 38% ROI over around 2k games then cashed out and havent played online for around 6 months.

Bankroll now a little shy of $100 with about $20 in equity for the SNG's I am still in.

Hopefully I will stick to the $5.20's DON for around 500 games or so and then move up to the $10.40's.

As I'm not working right now, starting my new job in 2 weeks I will probably knock out around 100 DON's every day so hopefully will be quick process.

My ideal aim is to get to around 2k so I can start playing MTT's with an ABI of $20.

I'll see you at the tables... those are my game of choice! (Currently at 200, grinding $1.10s, $2 90-seaters, and $1.20 45-seaters.)

With $200 I would be playing the $5.20's as there just as soft and you have the right bankroll for them.

I am playing the $5.20's currently with a $100and I am 38/60 so far, I know its a small sample so far but hopefully it can continue like that.

I plan to move up with i hit $250 to the $10.40's, I should imagine they will start getting harder at that level but will still be beatable over a large sample size.

My life has been insane and I haven't had much (gasp) time for poker for say- almost a year- aside from the occasional evening of donking away money.

See Avatar- yup, he's to blame.

That being said, things are finally starting to settle down- and I've had a few hours to play. This weekend I shocked my computer by loading up Pokerstars and depositing (you guessed it) 20 bucks to goof around with. My ptbb/100 was all over the place, but it's a start.

Let the games begin

Welcome back gina!

My short day at 2nl on full tilt went well:

Found a guy that kept shoving atc, and I picked him off a few times. After he left, I hit a few more hands off people that won money off the drooler. Tried a $3.30 90man ko, but gutshots for your stack are the nuts I guess. Up to $40 on full tilt, will be hopping up to 5nl at $65, so probably by the end of next week or so. I'm loving this 100bb max buyin for some reason, just seems more natural than the 250bb on stars at 2nl and 200bb at 5nl.

Currently running at 188bb/100 over 258 hands (+19.40) at 2nl on ftp.. obviously sustainable right?

Um, run hot much?

Awesome day at 2nL. When did they start 2nL on Fulltilt? Is their rake as abyssmal on 2nL as it used to be on 10nL? I do miss playing there though- once i build a roll I think I'll jump off of stars and play on tilt for the rakeback.

Ok, off to nit it up for an hour or so. Please to be donating if you see me.
