Monthly summary:

Goals for month from another thread.
  • Have time to play. Thesis shiz starting to weigh down.
Ugh. Uni sucks.
  • 20k+ hands
Fail. 16k hands. 13k of them in 2 days. All of the hands from this month were from the 25th onward. Zero motivation.
  • Maintain positive winrate.
Success. 3.6 PTBB. I'm happy with this due to mass multitabling.
  • Platinum star if I'm able to put the hands in order to make a run at Supernova by the end of the year.
Nowhere near it. Considering I played the bulk of my hands in 2 days for this month, platinum star is definitely attainable though.
  • NL100? - 10-15 BI away now.
Fail. Had to cash out some monies, and Neteller has temporarily frozen my account until I provide verification documents because I surpassed their lifetime transaction amount. PITA.

Sorry for the double, but I posted that last one from my blackberry so couldn't edit - under state law, charity poker rooms in MI don't allow dealers to take tips. I'm working about 2-3 hours 4 nites a week, so it's only about $25-30 a nite, but it helps in this economy. Still learning the job, but getting better at it.

I now have a whole new respect for good dealers.

I'm close to giving up on poker at the moment. I've been a constant winner since i started grinding micro stakes over about 30k hands, I've had some ups and downs, but all in all I've been winning constantly. I was up about 250$ and felt I was getting better. Then over three days, I'm down 60$. If the pot is over 1$ I lose it, I just can't win a single big pot anymore. If i flop the nuts I either win 10 cents, or I lose my entire stack because someone draws out on the river. I mean even though I get it all in with the best hand probably 70-80% of the time, I'm down 60$ from getting drawn out on. I don't know what's going on. Either I've just been lucky and the first 30k hands was a fluke, and I can't play poker, or poker stars has just decided it's time for me to lose all my money. I don't mind getting drawn out on, it happens, but when it starts happening EVERY SINGLE TIME over and over and over, I just don't know what to do. I'm dead scared to stack of with AA pre flop, because I lose. I've withdrawn everything from poker stars except 50$. Gonna start playing 2nl again, if I lose the final 50$ I'm not sure if I'm gonna bother playing poker anymore.

I read some poker books and decided to give poker a try so I deposited 20$ at Full Tilt 3 months ago and lost it after 2 months of ups and downs. Then i discovered this amazing forum and read a lot of great stuff.
So 3 weeks ago i deposited 15$ on Party Poker and now i have a bankroll of 500$ and handle pretty good the 0.25/0.5 tables.

I am playing terrible lately. Went on a 6BI downswing by playing like **** after a 2BI upswing.

Erased it with another 5BI upswing after getting back into the groove but its killing my winrate playing like this. Ugh.

Apparently Party Poker somehow found my blog and their advertising department wants to place an ad link on my site for $50 , lol ship.

Some other promotion company also emailed me and ask me to write a simple article about their site for $30. Where do they get my link from lol.

Maybe I can ask stars to advertise on my site for $$, maybe ftp too.

Brb making millions from poker companies.

Yeah, I know man. Once I calmed down a bit and cleared my head I realized I was over reacting X p I mean, it's not the money, losing 60$ really doesn't bother my as much as the fact that I've lost 60$ if you know what I mean. It's the psychological aspect of it. It makes me scared, it makes me steam, and it makes me doubt my own abilities as a player. I'm going back to 2nl and take it from there, if I manage to turn it I'll be back at 5nl pretty soon.

I started as earlier mentioned at the 5 free pokerstars dollars, and I am doing quite fine.
I am on the edge of moving op to 10NL, and my bankroll is $207 atm

and here is a picture :P

the first 50 bucks were made without pokertracker wenn I had no idea that those programs where there, I pretty much learned poker through this site and this topic.

Hey all. I'm not much of a poster but i've been lurking around here for a long time. So basically ive lost 97% of my bankroll within the last two weeks and have to start all over again. Two sundays ago I was sitting at 460 and change and was 4tbling some 10plo with 25plo thrown in. Yes I know its shaky br management at best but i've never really been one to follow it in the first place( which probably means why im in this situation in the first place). After losing a couple of buyins coupled with some 6+12dollar sng losses next thing i know im sitting at 200nl( shortstacking). This goes on for like an hour or so in which time i proceed to bust, double back up then lost a couple bbs and quit. So whats next?? Yep 400nl it is. Now buying in for 20bbs again, i proceed to almost dbling up( to like 130 or so) then lost a 70 dollar flip with AKdd( me on btn) vs SBs QQ all in pre on a A45AQ board. Reload- steal some blinds then get involved with 109s in bb after button min raises it. Flop 1092hh we get it in on the flop and i lose to AA when the deuce pairs. I finally quit with like a hundred left and took a week off. Come back and play saturday with like 110 or so and end up losing half of it 4 tbling 3dollar sngs and like a buyin or so at 10plo. Take another week off and come back today and lose some more.

So im now down to 30.00 even( i brought into my last cgsession- 10plo at like 2.80 to even it out lol got it back up to like 8 then lost it all with top2 and a flushdraw vs bottom pair and a gutshot) and like 440 fpps.

What Now??

Im sorry for all the bad beat ranting but i just wanted to kinda illustrate how i got to this point. I actually won my initial PS monies from a freeroll last yr(in feb) It was like 3dollars and ive run it up to over 300 4x and then back down to almost nothing and then back up again. Im primarily a sng player and thats how i built it up, but if you were to look me up you would see im probably a losing player bc i tend to 4-6 table and ill lose like 5 ft the other one and so on...( Mostly 45s) Ive never really been a successfull cash player and i know this- primarily bc i have a high tilt factor(losing full buy ins with KK vsA7o ai pre will tend to do this) and ive actually lost 90% of my money playing them. Yet when i run bad for 10+ sngs the first thing i do is fire up some 25nl ( or higher) to get it back ( im normally a 3+6 dollar sng player). I know this is bad, but then it gets worse after you take a beat be it an outdraw at the wrong price or whatver then next thing i know im down another 2buy ins in a game i shouldnt be playing in the first place

Sorry again for the rant and thank you for anyone who can listen/possibly help me.

Cliffs notes: Sng player with a bad cash game habbit is almost busto with only 30 dollars remaining. Help!

Start grinding the 45 mans and don't play Cash until you have enough for a second roll to start at 50NL.

Whats your SN?

Good luck.
