Had I lost monies I would start a BBV thread, now I just whine in the LC/NC thread. Can't I just get a little sympathy?

i watched the new LOST episodes the other night but we must still use spoilers for every new episode for 2 weeks after its aired. Im sure if anyone is reading this thread and plans on watching it outside the 2 week window then they'd speak up.

Spoiler:
just read all your pretend spoilers...no i didnt peak til after i watched the episodes but that doesnt mean you arent bastards.

Spoiler:
the next spoiler actually has some lost discussion in it...beware

Spoiler:
2 timelines and so many other questions that now must be answered....wtf? .........(but i heard that they will focus on the completing the storylines of the big 6 which is all well and good but also apparently many other story lines and questions (eg Rose/Bernard, Danielle, why hasnt hurley lost any weight ) may not get resolved......but Geez, they better damn cover what happened to Claire, who adam and eve are and of course explain Christian's role...........i better head over to the message boards before the next episode airs

nope, if you wanted sympathy even ITT you should have just posted then hands you lost and not posted a garph but its too late now

but seriously- kinda, isnt being below EV for NL players entirely standard? i cant remember the last time i saw a NL EV graph over a decent sample that in which hero was running above EV.

I don't think so. I'm about breakeven EV lifetime and has had long streches both above and below EV. I guess if I'm running hot I'm more inclined to not show the EV line.

Also, I don't see how it should be anything but breakeven for the entire player pool. HEM might screw up multiway all-ins but that is about it. The math should be break even IMO.

And Ice

I don't care about LOST.

I lost about $150 on the Super Bowl.

I had a good time, ate a bunch of good food, got a little drunk and will get a little more drunk in the near future.

I picked the winning team and picked the MVP of the game.

I wish I bet more money on the winning team and less money on all the other stuff.

I like Peyton Manning.

2010 has been great for me so far poker wise.

I plan to go grab my Get Smart DVD and put that on soon.

For the last 5 minutes but no more than 10 minutes (at the time I wrote this sentence) I have been hiccuping.

I like beer.

I plan to drink a few more beers.

TV was a great invention.

I dunno .... seems good.

I'm running a good amount above EV so far this year. You probably just havne't seen it cause people don't post it. Being below EV is not standard ... being below EV is being below EV.

(I was way below EV last year ....... )

(Not sure this is exactly how its done ... haven't been to BBV for a while)

Brag: Superbowl party I go to every year has a bunch of famous and semi-famous people, including an Oscar winning Director.

Beat: Lost $20 in the pool. (Went with conventional wisdom of high scoring game)

Variance: The Oscar winning Director would have won the Final Score pool, but he lost out because the rule is you have to be there to collect the prize, and he left early

Director don't care about money, he has an oscar... you know girls love oscars > money

This hand was kinda fun. I really did not expect him to shove the river It was really nice when he did though. Unexpected .....

you know what happens to people who flop quads in the limit forum and never bet them?....well they get a good old fashioned beatdown til they learn that your raise rock is greater than your call rock when you have the freakin nuts.

Hmmm actually last year I was ~$3.5K under EV .... I'm above EV so far this year and no, it is not a great sample size ... I play when I can, gotten in like 26K hands or so, so far.

Guy talked a little after ... said something like "whoops" and then said "that must have felt good" and i just said "yea, I wasn't expecting you to shove"

I like the way I played it though ... standard for me. Whenever a TAGish player check/calls on that flop I assume a midpair and then I fire the A and the guy times down and finally calls. I triple to get him off. A lot of people do this. So on the right boards I check/call my sets ... here it was quads. Thing is I think not many check 3 streets with a set .... but I'll do it if I think it's a good spot ... particularly a good place to rep a regular mid-pair.

Deep in one of the Daily Doubles on FT. Come on dealer, one time.

Why is it that Sunday night everyone slow plays the hell out of monsters? My tables have been full of loose passive fish, playing 75/0 or 85/5. Obv every time I get into a hand with them they end up with a set or better.

And I what is it about the min raise? I swear I think I'm playing limit tonight.

Worrying about it won't help FWIW.

I don't think anyone was worrying about it. I was railing (because wdwf had posted ITT), while watching the superbowl post-post-post-game show. wdwf expressed satisfaction with her results, and I was congratulating/commiserating, but I don't think anyone was "worrying". (hope you haven't had TOO many beers !! )

Is this one of those unanswerable philosophical questions like "how many angels can dance on the head of a needle?"???

The word "too" has been a little interesting just cause people will say stuff like that. The word "too" by definition means you had more than you should have. He shouldn't go too far. OBVIOUSLY, by definition too far means farther than should have been gone. There are many other stupid uses of the word too and many of them are less correct.

Too is an adjective. If something is too whatever than by definition it should be less than that. It just bothers me sometimes cause it's so absolute and people constantly act as if it is not.

But also no ... there is no such thing as too much beer.

^^ too true

whoop sorry, i wandered into the wrong thread. I thought this was beginner LC/NC not the grammer forum LC/NC lol

Also as i couldnt sleep last night i ended up watching the second half of the Handegg

superbowl.

While i found it somewhat interesting even though i dont know most rules [ok any rules] the constant breaks are ****ing annoying. Most of the time was spent watching commentators etc.

But even with my zero knowledge i think it looked like a good game.

It improved my thinking of handegg being a no skill game. That said it is still in no way football. Majority of play is from hands. Maybe the odd kick. Makes no sense imo
