I have to rant about this for a minute...

Poker players are kinda creepy. I've recently gotten an influx of people friending me on Facebook and other websites, and also sending me messages on dating sites. I'm fine with people that I know doing it (hi Bannnnn!), but... really. Really? Gah.

And now, back to talk of football, HU, and hand histories.

Well.. you're a cute girl on a forum full of 17+ year old males. I'm certainly not saying you deserve all that.. it is pretty damn creepy and I hope it stops... but it certainly isn't surprising.

I don't understand how they're FINDING me though... Ok, so you have a picture, and the very observant have a first name. How have I gotten four FB friend requests in the past week with a message of 'lol 2+2'?

Any of you, that's fine. I like you. But... meh.

Subject: Unix evolution

I was giving some thought to the general evolution (I use the term
loosely, here) of Unix since its inception at Bell Labs, and I think it
could be described as follows.

In the early PDP-11 days, Unix programs had the following design
parameters:

Rule 1. It didn’t have to be good, or even correct,

but:

Rule 2. It had to be small.

Thus the toolkit approach, and so forth.

Of course, over time, computer hardware has become progressively
more powerful: processors speed up, address spaces move from 16 to
32 bits, memory gets cheaper, and so forth.

So Rule 2 has been relaxed.
