Ro WTF how do you get 10k hands in a day you must do serious multi-tabling? and play for hours!! Id be happy getting in that much in a month

isn't Barry Greenstein his dad? where did the name Sebok come from?
01-13-2009 , 06:27 AM
I was kidding, I've only logged 1200 hands today =P I do usually get a bit more, but not 10k, don't worry. I'm not going insane yet.
01-13-2009 , 06:43 AM
Barry Greenstein is his stepfather, not blood father.
01-13-2009 , 06:45 AM
Aw right lol didnt catch on to that lol Just out of interest how many hands per month did you have to log to make it to platinum, or did you have to wait to NL50 for platinum. I suck at teh putting in volume. Probably because i only play 4 tables as per fee's guide. Sometimes 6. Although im thinking or increasing that to grind up enough monies to take a stab at NL50. So i can get pwned and have to move down again :P

I think something like 9 tables should be manageable by any player if he gives it enough time and practice. As for hands: November: 80k, December: 63k, January 1st-13th: 62k.

Comes and goes in ebbs and flows, see. I played very little around December and have decided to start grinding more this month to get Supernova due to a prop bet, but have been slacking a bit despite that. I was planning for 1kVPPs a day, but that didn't work out as I had hoped, so it'll take about a month to get Supernova than I'd wanted, which apparently will cost me 9k by the end of the year not counting winnings from actually playing. Hopefully I will step up my VPP gain as I move to Australia or maybe move up to 100NL.

fwiw this sort of this (and questions like it) is borderline at best in terms of needing its own thread so ive moved it here. could also have been in the questions thread at the top of the forum.

Why on earth would you want to move to the UK Ro, this place is a dive. And the weather sucks aswelll.

Is anyone else getting annoyed with how slowly stars is going at the minute with so many people online? It's taking a minute or so to register into tournaments.

I'm torn because while I don't like the slowness, it's a good problem to have because their volume has been insane all month.
01-13-2009 , 04:02 PM
yeah i do like the extra volume, think there was over 250k on a couple of sundays ago. But they could really do with upgrading their servers

oh yeah. I had a lot of fun not worrying about pot odds and bankroll management or any of that stuff. Now I'm easing back into playing (I took those days off from playing too, except for one "fun" session the other day) and hope to really hit the grind starting in February

I think i could probably do with a few days break. Either that or just give up on cash and MTT's and just stick with the 6 max Turbo SnG's. Got a 45% ROI over the first 24 this year. (have an average ROI of about 20 or so from the last 300 last year).

As much as i really want to improved my cash game play, I think i may build my roll with SnG's until i'm rolled for NL25/NL50. Will probably start playing at NL10 though so i have a VERY big cushion while i'm learning.

I'm pretty sure i've mentioned it already.. but I really hate 2009.

edit: Been back for about 2 hours..and I've already decided to take another week off or so.

Nah, I know a cheap place to rent nearby though. I'm not exactly sure what I'm taking. I'm an idiot like that.

Uhhh it's closer to the EPT? =D Well I'm there to study Eng Lit, and I sorta love theatre and such, and uh the school's good? I have no clue.

OH RIGHT. GAMBLING IS UNTAXED =D

And welcome back Ice Wolf!

Btw, Chacava.. you need more volume.

Why would anyone display their PS VIP status? I'm playing 10nl and I've come across someone that is SuperNova. Now the person either plays a tonne of 10nl and is really good, or they play at a higher level a considerable amount and are really good.

Either way, I think its a tell to us more knowledgeable players, even though us knowledgeable players would figure it out within 50 hands.
