Honestly, I think a lot of people are going to take us lightly this season, and many will be surprised. If you look back, we lost 1 game in the last 23 in the Premier League, and with Fabregas and Rosicky fit, Arshavin settled and a new centre back pairing, I think we can definitely challenge. (Would like Arsene to bring an enforcer into the midfield though)

Combine that with Man Utd losing Ronaldo and Tevez, them odds are crazy.

ummm hmmm.. somehow i just cant agree..

yes man u lost tevez and ronaldo.. the team wont replace the goals ronaldo scored this season but i think for the most part United is a pretty strong outfit this season.. especially considering all of the top 4 sides are weaker than they were last season and have done very little to re strengthen..

to me liverpool/arsenal are the weakest of the top 4. liverpool basically has a very hard time if they cant keep gerrad fit.. they have also been pretty weak in the back for years imo..

and arsenal has lost a LOT this summer and did not do anything to replenish the side. as good as van percie is i dont think he is consistent... and frankly none of the arsenal forward players are or have been imo (since the invincibles days)

arsenal i think has problems everywhere in the field and has not done much to mend it..probably due their finacial problems.. that being said i see them being in the to 4 this season but i cant imagine they will challenge for the title..

i see the league gong to man U or maybe chelsea this season. though i really hope once of the other teams break the top 4 this season.

well, I wouldn't take 1:1 odds on Arsenal>Man U, but 10:1, hell yeah.

I knock it down to a single 'this', I'm running good, playing good and feeling good, I'm just not sleeping good.
08-10-2009 , 11:13 PM
I'm in one of those spells where I wonder if I even know anything about poker.

oh and +1 to not sleeping well.

Teaching my sister how to play Poker from scratch. FML. I'll recommend her to 2+2, tell her my screen name, she'll then goe through my posts and sees I'm a BBV perv.

Meh, just gave her 'Poker for Dummies', told her to read it twice, and I'll teach her the rest. She's lucky she's got someone to iron out her mistakes for her .

In before anyone else in saying:

girls can't play poker, ldo.

Let me teach her?
08-11-2009 , 03:03 AM

Getting there, gimpy forearms tho
08-11-2009 , 04:06 AM
Girls can't play poker. I tried to teach one, and after a few months, she still managed to flat call ATcc on 4c8cx and then fold a blank turn.

You'd think anyone I teach would be at least a third as spewey as I am, but no, she's an absolute nit.
08-11-2009 , 05:24 AM
Whydowe_fall, when she joins, I'll get her to contact you, and then maybe you can explain that Poker isn't good for her, and then maybe she'll leave me alone.

And Ro, I'm obviously gonna bankroll her, how long did your friend take to start beating 2NL from all that you tought her? Obviously she can sweat me but the levels are completely different obviously, would probably be a little detrimental if I started teaching her about floating and squeezing lulz.

Actually, by giving her this book, I know she won't read it, so I've basically palmed her off, and when she says "I thought you were gonna teach me." I'll be like "well I gave you a book to learn the basics." You don't get nowhere without reading Poker for Dummies ldo.

Like 2 months? It took her about 4-5 months playing maybe 2-3 hours every week to beat 5NL, but quite well. She has about 22bb/100 now.

I did tonnes of sweat sessions with her though. Turned her from an 8/5 to a 17/13. Quite happy. Breeezzz was a much greater success though, even though I only sweat him once or twice. He turned from like 15/11 to 24/18 lol.

Way too much soccer talk in here IMO.
08-11-2009 , 05:49 AM
8/5, wow. :l

And Lego05, there's no talk of soccer ITT, football maybe, but soccer, naaahhh.

ALSO! Doesn't everyone remember 2NL!? I've been looking over some 2NL hands in the uNL forum a bit and I remember how proud I was when I won like $4, and I had a $15 day and I was ballin' out of control, walking around with a swagger because I grinded 2NL. Ok, maybe not the last bit, but it brought back memories.

hand one is standard call on the river imo. raising would be spew(unless you had some super read) and we have some SD equity. call>fold>raise imo

hand 2: im guessing you are checking to induce?? i would much rather just value bet it.. there is a tonne hands that check back on the river imo. maybe a smallish bet like 1/2 pot or even smaller.. might get villain to spew

just my 2c

-10 b/i over my first 4-5k hands at 10nl. don't think i'm playing that badly but defo need to work on somethings before it gets too demoralising

keeping the b/r level by supplementing it with the $5 DON's but playing too many of those make me want to kill myself

Bee, where 'bouts in London do you live?

Don't know why I ask everyone who has 'London' in the box that question...
