after i bet out another table popped up due to trying out stacking the tables. i flipped through the tables and couldn't find it so assumed the villain had folded. my inspired turn check is actually me timing out.....

Poker is so incredibly lame sometime, or rather, all the time. I catch some breaks and then it goes horribly downhill again. Some donk basically bet/called on an Ax5 board with QQ, and I had 55, obv, so we stacked off turn. Yay. Some guy flats QQ pre vs my 4bet?? and flops a Q, etc etc etc.

I'm serious, I should quit poker or something. Save everyone a lot of whining, too.
10-19-2009 , 07:55 PM
Brag: I'm a sicko.
Beat: I got carried away with bluffing a gutshot and lost $20 a few hands later.
Variance: 4-bet light with KTs vs. CO 3-bet 20 minutes after that. Flopped oesd/FD vs. trip queens, straight on the turn, held up on the river. So, I'll never learn my lesson.

bet turn with quads imo.

receive hugs = play better

lol @ Roseeker (the literary freak) saying "mine-setted" ;-)

Just watched a fairly lame poker movie and I don't know the title of what I watched :-/. Had a bunch of pros on it such as teh unibomber and mercier and esfondiari. plot was: young gun has natural talent. old guy can read tells really easily. poker is all about tells. young guy sexes a whore but didn't know old guy paid for her. young guy mucks the winning aces heads up after calling an all-in against his old mentor to let him win.
10-19-2009 , 09:24 PM
haha I was referring to that goodwin guy who bashes online players and stuff.

Was it the Grand?
10-19-2009 , 09:29 PM
=x. You're the king of books. How dare I even question you.

And I have no idea what the title for that movie is.

50NL hates my guts or something, I CANNOT run good at it for some reason, even though I had crushed it before and on FTP.

I managed to claw my way back playing 25NL though. Why do I run good when I move down every single time? I made like 6 buys in half an hour, obv.

I'm in similar boat. Tiny 50NL sample though, but it ain't pretty. I murder nitty Cake 20NL, but 50NL rejects me everytime I try to sneak in Utility of money hurts me. $20 is a nice case of beer. I can't figure out how to diminish the loss of $50 by comparing it to something perishable I'd buy

7BI below EV in one day. This is so very annoying.

50$ is a nice meal, $100 is some nice cloths, $200 mountain bike, $400 is a day in a nice hotel, $600 is a laptop, $1000 is a plane trip anywhere around the world, $2000 is car insurance for a year, $5000 is one semesters tuition, $10000 is a brick of high society

Were you the one bluffing or the guy with the best hand?

Gonna focus on that one first For whatever reason it helps me translate poker losses to perishable stuff, so I think I'll just start telling myself a lost BI is just a Buffalo Wild Wings outing. That'll probably help

Best hand Dude's a straight up psychopath, but painfully easy to read, usually. He builds a nice pot though.

FWIW, I do, on occasion c/r bluff rivers when a reg makes a thinnish value bet on a dangerous board. Now, I shall start doing so on dry boards too

c/c, check, c/r works decently well in 3b pots imo, doesn't get so much credit in other hands. You rep v few combos generally and a lot of players will just go meh, he's repping nothing/his line doesn't make any sense; I call. 3b pots you can rep set/overpair/w/e that cbet flop, missed turn c/r and decided to c/r river vs weaker value hands fairly successfully vs a lot of players.

Basically, just be aware if your opponent can hand read/ if they just hate folding in general.
