Just read this in another thread and it got me thinking...

I have read countless times that hero should always have a good reason for any action he makes - if hero raises because he has put villain on a range of hands, has analysed his equity, and has decided that a bet is +EV, then any response from villain shouldn't really be a surprise at all.

Would I be right in thinking that if you ever find yourself in a 'F*ck!! What do I do now??" situation, it means that a previous action you made wasn't thought out enough?

Ah yea usually you have an idea ..... now and then something happens and you don't know where it is going. First picture might be a good spot to start though .... second is pretty damn good too though.

Oh as far as poker w/e ... post hands I can give advice on that and I'm more willing to try to do so.

Fair enough - don't have any particular hands to post at the moment as so far all of my play has pretty much been on the same level as the droolers. I'm trying to put together a mental checklist of things I should be constantly doing when playing, and thought that maybe if I found myself in a "F*ck, what do I do now" situ it might be a good indicator that I'd already made a mistake.

I take your point, though, that asking about specific situations is probably more helpful than fishing for generalised advice. Will post some HH when they crop up (and more threadsavers, obviously).

I know my advice was solid .... I also know you could go back and find a ton of hands that you didn't really know what to do and would be worth posting .... and a lot of other posting stuff also. Things happen.

But I always found the specific situations helped me learn a lot better.

And I invented situations as necessary to help me learn.
