My default vs an unknown would be to cbet flop as he will call with all FDs and 7x, and then barrel turn on any non-spade. Unsure if I'd barrel an Ace or not too just thinking about it
fold, Hero raises to €0.30, fold, fold, fold, BB raises to €0.90, Hero raises to €2.20, BB calls €1.30
Flop:(€4.45, 2 players) K A 6 BB checks, Hero checks
Turn:(€4.45, 2 players) T BB checks, Hero checks
River:(€4.45, 2 players) 9 BB checks, Hero checks
h3: Tried to raise and get value from villains overpairs. But i think calling is a lot better as villain can DB and tbh there shouldn't be too many action killer cards.
@Fishtankz - I've had a few hands with QQ nearly identical to yours and played them pretty much the same way. Would be interesting to see the thoughts of others regarding how to play in these situations.
Pretty good start to 2014. Up a BI and a half at 10NL. Started really badly and was down a BI in about 50 hands but kept my cool and ran it back up. Got a few hands for you all.
H1) Standard? His raise size worried me a bit but since it's quite a draw heavy board and we beat most over pairs OK to stack off here?
@TDA: Your hand 3 - totally sucks. Why would he check top set on the flop? I love seeing these meganits get stacked, shame he had the one hand that beat you.
Anyway, if only all poker was so easy. Definitely made a note on this guy!
@Fishtankz
H1 - fine to check flop imo. Unlikely to get called by worse for more than one street, but you have no idea where you are if you get called OTF. The Pokerbank.com has just released a vid on resteals when an Ace hits so maybe go have a look. As played I'd be calling turn
H2 - Checking down seems fine.
H3 - Think flop raise is fine. You're OOP so need to control the potsize to get the money in the middle ASAP, and villain has shown strength with his cbet into 2 players on a drawy board that hits calling ranges. Think you're unlucky he doesn't have a hand here, but don't think you played it wrong necessarily as you need to balance with bluffs here too, especially if he'll cbet drawy boards with air
Thanks, Dunna. Agree about H2. Looking back at H3, is the river a C/C or would a small value/blocker bet on the river and folding to a raise be better than calling?
In other news, I started a 2014 PG&C thread and would love it if you could subscribe
@bilo
h1: never folding
h2: either 5b shove or fold. Could do an SPR calculation postflop. What's our equity of catching BFD, and what are pot odds & our equity after hitting it. Then EV for this scenario.
h3: I guess calling can't be bad. Villain isn't folding much on this flop and he can turn some hands into bluff OTR.
Playing some 4nl now since i don't feel like i'm at top of my game. Really fun to see villains x/f BvB a ton of good boards to bet on. And the gameplay is quite simple overall
Always fun to see these kind of villains spazz out.
Thanks, Dunna. Agree about H2. Looking back at H3, is the river a C/C or would a small value/blocker bet on the river and folding to a raise be better than calling?
No. Let villain continue to bluff if he is and keeps the pot smaller by ch/calling if he has hit better. We want to see a showdown so need to basically station here. Also we can't just ch/fold every time an overcards hits so need some non Ax hands in ourrange that we'll ch/call here. This is basically top of that. Also think about what you'd ch turn then donk small otr with?
Check out my sweet seat

Guy to my immediate right was a pushover and the other two weren't much better.
Seemed to be a lot of fish at 10NL tonight but with limp/fold stats of 0 and FCB of close to 0 it seems like a lot of isoing and check/folding is in order?
Decided to play a few more hands to finish off a bonus.
Stacked twice on the same table!!
JJ < 88 overpair vs. set.
Then this one...just a bad beat but loved the flop!
Can't complain about the hands, but turned a winning 10nl session into -1.5BI losing one...
@Stude check out this table!
Bad thing with 4nl is that there is not much bluffing going on.
Not a big mistake to gii here with 100bb but also need to keep it simple, stupid. So can fold be +EV here?
Currently at -70bb/100 combined(47/23 in bb and sb respectively) which is absolutely massive. If I fix that(>-50bb/100 combined) il be crushing by spring time.
Off to a good start with it though, already found a few leaks
Preflop: Hero is UTG with A 8
Hero raises to $1.50, MP calls $1.50, 3 folds, BB calls $1
